Now between that mountain of Uhud, you can see here, there is this small hillock. Now that is the hillock on which Rasulullahﷺ had posted archers. And he told them, do not leave that place. Even if you see the vultures eating from our bodies. So irrespective whether you have success or you have failure, don't leave the place. But that order was disobeyed. And literally where I'm standing now is the passage through which Khalid bin Walid Rabi Al-Anhu, at that time he was not Muslim, brought the cavalry. And when cavalry hits infantry from the back, the result is predestined. And that's what happened. The Muslims lost the war and 70 of the great Sahaba of Rasulullahﷺ were shaheed. And that is the shahada of Uhud. Rasulullahﷺ used to visit here and make dua for them. And that is why we are also here to make dua. Alhamdulillah. That's a bonus of that sunrise, which seems to be so fabulous. I don't know if I can get a better shot than that. Anyway, that shot is good, inshaAllah. We have, this is Ibrahim. He's dragging me away from my job. He's saying we should hurry up so that we have time to rest, inshaAllah. Alright, inshaAllah. But take your time, take your time. Don't pretend like I'm talking to you. Right. We just walk very slowly and we enjoy the scene and they just look at us and it's fun. InshaAllah. They keep on pointing at us. Alhamdulillah. The thing to see, the lesson for us in this whole thing of the entire incidents, incident of Uhud, the battle, as well as, very importantly, the archers who were stationed on that hill over there. Oh. People were stationed there. Is the lesson of obedience to the Rasool, alayhi salam. Salal alayhi salam. This masjid is the new masjid that has been constructed here. I'm going now towards the graves of the shuhada of Uhud. But they have built a masjid there. It's not yet commissioned. So salah has not started in it yet. That is the Jabal Rumat. As I mentioned to you, the gap through which we are walking is the gap between Jabal Rumat and Jabal Uhud. And this is where the Sahaba who were stationed on this hill to prevent the cavalry from attacking the Muslims from the back. The Sahaba disobeyed and they came down and then the rest is history. So this is where we are. I'm going now towards the graves of the shuhada of Uhud. This masjid is called Masjid Sayyid al-Shuhada. Who is that one of the titles of Sayyidina Omar bin al-Khabba, Sayyidina Hamza bin Abdul Muttalib. Imagine these places are so blessed. These are the people who fought for the sake of Allahﷻ, gave their lives for the sake of Allahﷻ. And they know there are no headstones and there are no tombs and there are no structures constructed uh it's just one flat land we ask allah to forgive them and to fill their whole with nor we ask allah to make us among those who will be raised with these blessed ones is you are blessed by allah and were chosen by him to be witnesses for haq against batil There's this plaque which is uh which i will read out for you which says uh cemetery so the old martyr cemetery is located north of our masjid al nabawi approximately four kilometers away from the foot of one mountain 70 companions were buried there after being martyred in the battle of ahad in 3 a edge 3 hijri 625 by order of rasulullah who recommended we buried in the place of their martyrdom without washing he said i am a witness over these on the day of jannah among the most prominent of those very near are hamza bin abdul-muttalib rasulullah and leader of the martyrs standard bearer of islam and muslims abdullah bin jahash and hanzalah who was washed by the angels some of the bodies were later relocated to their current vocation during the era of mahavir with absurd bearing floods their bodies remain unchanged because they dug up the graves um to bury them they thought of no change in the body it had not decomposed the cemetery has gone through several stages where domes and mosques were built over it in different periods. After that, it was removed during the era of the first Saudi state in compliance with the Sunnah of Rasulullah regarding leveling graves. Today, the cemetery is surrounded by a fence. It is accessible and visited at all hours. Muslims from all over the world visited to greet the martyrs and pray for them, following the example of Rasulullah who used to visit them regularly. The cemetery stands as the eternal Sunnah of sacrifice and loyalty, reminding Muslims of the values of patience, perseverance, and jihad. The principal lesson we learn is the importance of obeying the Rasul ﷺ. Even when Muslims are not in the community, they are not in the community of the Prophetﷺ. The reason why the Prophet left the hillock is not because they became rebellious or left Islam. They just said, there is no need anymore to obey the instruction and the command of the Rasul because we have won the war. This is exactly the logic we use today. The reason why the Prophet left the hillock is because he was not a Muslim. Now, this is where the problem starts. We obey the Rasul ﷺ because he said so. Because Allahﷻ gave him the wisdom and the knowledge based on which he gave a command. It's our job to obey this command. Not use our logic to rethink that and say, well, this is no longer valid. In the case of this battle of Ahudh, Allahﷻ was very tough with the Sahaba because he was training the standard bearers of Islam. With us, Allahﷻ gives us a lot of leeway because if Allahﷻ used the same standard which he used for the Sahaba, we would not even be alive. We would have been dead long ago. But Allahﷻ uses more mercy for us, alhamdulillah. So therefore, in the case of the Sahaba, one single instance of disobedience of the Rasul ﷺ, Allahﷻ changed the fate of this battle. From victory to defeat. And not just that, but 70 of the best were sharrs. We ask Allahﷻ to help us to learn these lessons and to follow them in our lives. As we know the story of Bani al-Qibratayn, this is the original direction, the original Qibla, the direction of Jerusalem. The Rasulﷺ used to pray in that direction, but he really wanted to. He prayed towards the Kaaba. And Allahﷻ accepted his dua without asking. Allahﷻ said, we have seen you looking up at the sky, raising your hand and so on, and we know what you want, so here it is. And we have changed the direction, and you may now pray towards the Kaaba. And this is how this Bajj is called Qibla. The Bajj is of the two Qiblahs. This is the new, not new from those days, but this is the direction. The Qibla is a very beautiful masjid. You can see here Ayatul Taqwaar, which are on this, the whole frame of the mihrab. And the whole masjid is like this, all beautifully decorated. Very artistic, very beautiful. MashaAllah. We ask Allah to change our direction also, from the dunya to the athira, towards the Kaaba, towards pleasing Allah. We have this fazila of praying in this masjid. This is the hadith in Namazah, where the Prophetﷺ said that a person who purifies himself in his house and comes to the masjid, Quba, and prays two rak'at of salah, he said that the fazilat of that, the sawaw of that, kana lahu ajarin khubarak. That is the rawaahu ibn Majah, the Sanad al-Sahih. I am in Masjid al-Quba, the first masjid built in Islam, when Nasr al-Salam was established. Nasr al-Salam first came from Makkah, Hijrah. He stopped here in Quba for some time, and he built his masjid, and the Sahaba who were with him, the Maha Jirin and the Ansar participated in that. Allah mentioned his masjid, and Allah praised his masjid, and praised the people who are in the masjid. The people who are very careful about their ritual purity, the importance of tahara as well. The hadith of Nasr al-Salam, we know that two rak'at of salah prayed in this masjid, as the sawaw has the reward equal to an umrah. We ask Allah to enable us to do that, and to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity of praying two rak'at of salah in Masjid al-Quba, inshaAllah. Typical date orchard, see the kind of shade and how thick it is. And people come and sit here, they pray here and so on, and picnic here and stuff. See those date palms, how massive the trunks are and how strong. We have the ayat of Surah Maryam, Allahﷻ told Maryam alayhi salam, shake the date palm and dates will fall. Can you imagine? This is this young girl who's suddenly pregnant and she is obviously traumatized by all that. And Allahﷻ is telling her, shake the date, how can anybody shake this thing? But she did and she touched it and Allahﷻ made ripe dates to fall from the top, so that she had food right there. But she had to make the effort. And that's the lesson for us to say that when you make the effort, Allahﷻ makes it happen. Even though on the face of it, it seems to be impossible. But for Allahﷻ, nothing is impossible. But the shard, the condition is that we make the effort. That's the whole importance of making the effort to gain blessings. This is a date garden which is behind Masjid Quba. And they say that Rasulullah himself came here and he used to spend some time here because it has a well with sweet water in it. And the Prophetﷺ liked to come and sit in the shade. It's distinctly cooler. I mean, I can't obviously show you the temperature in the video, but take my word for it. It's distinctly cooler when you are in here, inside. So, a few degrees, the temperature falls a few degrees, thanks to the shade. I think I actually activate my man's faces today,
