Auto-generated transcript:In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. All praise belongs to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the honour of the prophets and messengers. Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and upon his family, and peace and blessings be upon him. Peace be upon him, and much, much peace. And then, we are looking at the advice of Fatima al-Assam, may Allah be pleased with him, which he gave. And this is the third one. He said, I know that in this world, things which are dearest and most precious are looked after properly. Something which is most precious, most valuable and dearest to you, you will look after it properly. He said, I know this is the case with all our things. And then I read in the Qur'an, and Allah said, مَا عِنْدَكُمْ يَنْفَذُوا وَمَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ بَاقٌ Allah said, whatever you have will end. But whatever Allah has is everlasting. And Allah said, وَلَذِيَنَّ الَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا أَجْرَهُمْ بِأَحْسَنِ مَا كَانُوا يَعْوَلُوا Allah said, and we will certainly reward the steadfast according to the best of their deeds. So Fatima al-Assam says that, whenever I saw something which was of great value, which was of great value, to me, I spent it for the sake of Allah. So that it will remain for me forever. Anything which was most valuable, I gave it away, so that it will remain for me with Allah forever. Allah also said in the Qur'an, Allah said, you cannot reach the level of birr, you cannot reach the level of piety, until you spend in the path of Allah, that which you love the most. حَتَّىٰ تُنفِقُوا مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَ There is virtue and there is sawab in spending anything, whatever you have, alhamdulillah, spending that in the path of Allah , including for example, things which you may not use, I'm not talking about trash, but I'm saying things which you may not use, maybe say older clothes and this and that, you give in the path of Allah, alhamdulillah, no problem. But that is not what Allah is saying in this ayah. In this ayah, Allah is saying, that which you love the most, give it in the path of Allah if you want to reach the level of albirr, the level of closest closest for Allah . So it's not a question of what you give, because everything you have in any case belongs to Allah . It's a question of your niyyah. It's a question of what is closest to Allah . It's a question of what is closest to your heart. So we have, alhamdulillah, beautiful stories from the seerah and from the ayat of sahaba, Abu Talha al-Ansari , when this ayat was revealed, Abu Talha had a garden, he had a date orchard, which was so thick that when you go inside, it would be cool even in the summer. So Rasool Allah sometimes used to go in that date orchard, he would go and sit there. There was a well, this well had a wall around it. So Nabi would sit on the side of the well on the wall, and sometimes he would take water and drink from there. There are several beautiful stories. This date garden also had a wall all around it. So one of the stories of this thing, Nabi one day, he went by himself, nobody knew where he went, he was missing for a long time, people got worried what happened to the Rasool . So they went searching for him. Abu Hurair then remembered, that usually he would go to this date garden of Abu Talha al-Ansari. So he went there, he tried to find a way inside, he couldn't find a way, he only found one way where there was a freshwater stream that would come out from this date garden. So for the stream to pass, there was a little like a drain, you know, hole. So Abu Hurair crawled in through that, and he saw Rasool Allah there, he was sitting there, he was sitting there. He was sitting on this side of the well. Abu Hurair said, Ya Rasool Allah, we are missing you. Nabi said, go and tell the people that whoever said, La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammad Rasool Allah, Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala will forgive all his sins. Go and tell them, announce it. Whoever said, La ilaha illa Allah, Allah will forgive his sins. Abu Hurair said, Ya Rasool Allah, you want me to announce this in the market everywhere? Yes, go announce. So Abu Hurair said, Ya Rasool Allah, nobody will believe me, I'm going to tell him this. So give me a sign. Nabi said, take my shoes. He was wearing, you know, wooden sandals. So he said, you take those. So he took those shoes, he put them on his head, and he went out, and he was going towards the market to announce this good news for all the people. On the way, he met Umar ibn al-Khattab al-Zaydan. Sayyidina Umar said, where are you going? He said, I'm going to, Nabi said this, they say, tell the people, they say, tell the people, they say, tell the people, say, tell the people, say, la ilaha illallah Muhammad Rasool Allah, and Allah will forgive all your sins. So Sayyidina Umar, Radha ila Anu, he didn't hit him hard, but he kind of, you know, slapped him on his chest. Now Sayyidina Umar was a wrestler. Sayyidina Umar was a big and very powerful man. And Abu Hurair was, you know, slim. So when Sayyidina Umar hit him, Abu Hurair fell down. Radha ila Anu. And he was very upset, obviously. So he started hearing the news, and he said, he had tears in his eyes. He started crying. Sayyidina Umar grabbed him, pulled him up. He said, where is Rasool Allah? He said, he's in that garden. He took him, literally sort of, you know, frog-matched him to the, to the day garden. He said, Ya Rasool Allah, this man is saying this. And he had, he had the sign of Rasool Allah as the proof. He said, he's saying this. Did you say this? Nabi said, yes, I said this to him. This is Bashara, minallahu ta'ala. Sayyidina Umar said, Ya Rasool Allah, this is good, alhamdulillah. But if you tell this to the old people, to all the people, nobody will do any work. They'll simply say, la ilaha illallah, and then they will think that, you know, I will get Jannah. Jannah is mine. So please do not announce this. Nabi said to Abu Hurairah, don't say anything. Right? So this is the reason I'm telling you this story about this dead garden, is because this was such a beautiful place. And it was a very, very valuable piece of property. Now, when this ayat was revealed, Lantana al birra hatta tunfiqum mimma tuhibbuun Abu tala lantana al birra hatta tunfiqum mimma tuhibbuun Al-Azhar-e-Razali Radhi Allama took the papers, his document for this property, came to Rasulullah and he said, Ya Rasool Allah, I give this in the path of Allah. This is my donation. Rasool Allah said, why? He said, because Allah said, Lantana al birra hatta tunfiqum mimma tuhibbuun You cannot reach a level of piety unless you give in the path of Allah, unless you spend in charity that which you love the most. I love this garden the most. This is the most valuable property I have. I want to give this in the path of Allah. See the feeling and the love for Allah. See the reality of Jannah. See the reality of Allah. Allah said something, you literally feel, Oh my God, this is what Allah said to me. Allah said this to me. So, and then see the hikmah of Rasulullah , see the wisdom Rasoolullah said to him, take this property, sell it and divide the amount, that you receive among your own relatives, with your own family. Right? So even there, the hikmah of Rasulullah , he said, instead of him taking it, he said, sell it and give it to your own children and other people and your family, divide it in your own family, let it be there. So what are we seeing here? We're seeing here that here is this thing which is the most valuable to me. I want this. I love this thing here in this world. I want this thing to remain for me. I want this thing to remain for me when I meet Allah. Therefore, spend it in the path of Allah. The question I ask myself in you is, Alhamdulillah, I know all of you are big-hearted people and you give charity and so on. May Allah bless you. But ask yourself this question. When I give a large amount of money in charity, how do I feel? Do you feel the same as if you invest that money in an investment? Like if you buy a stock or you buy a property, you buy a house or something. Right? If you spend an equal amount of money in the path of Allah, is the feeling the same? Or when we give charity, even though we give good charity, somewhere we feel a sense of loss. Oh, this money is gone. Which one? Even if you compare, for example, Alhamdulillah, it's not haram for you to have good cars and so on and so forth. But ask yourself, this year, the amount of money I spent in charity, is that equal to the price of my car? The car you bought for yourself, it will remain here. Right? Tomorrow we will have another janazah. How many reminders we have again and again and again and again and again. Whatever the man owned will stay here. But supposing that man had given charity to the value of that car, that charity would be waiting for him with Allah . And Nabi said, the one who spends in the path of Allah, Allah receives it in his hand and he lets it grow. He lets it grow. He lets it grow. He makes it grow like a young camel is nurtured and protected and made to grow until it reaches its maturity. I mean, I can sit here and tell you hadith after hadith. That's not the point. The point is that how real is this to me and you? It was a question I asked myself and I request you to ask yourself, how real is this? I know intellectually we say it is, of course, it is real. This is the ayat of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala from the Quran. This is the hadith of Rabi Shalallahu Alaihi Wasallam. What is more real than that? That's okay. That's intellectual. It's here in the head. In the heart. Because what is in the heart produces action. What is in the head remains in the head. It doesn't produce action. People know.
