Auto-generated transcript:As-salāmu ʿalaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh. Alhamdulillah. As-salātu wa-salāmu ʿalā-i-rasūli-llāh wa-alā-ālihi wa-sahbihi wa-man walā. Wa-ba'āt. I am absolutely delighted to see all of you, mā shā'a Llāh. May Allah bless you and protect you. May Allah use you for His work, in shā'a Llāh. And the thing I want to remind myself of you is that the position of youth, of young people, in Islam has always been very, very important. And if you read the seerah of Rasulullah s.a.w., how many of you have read the seerah? One, two, three, four, mā shā'a Llāh, good, good. Mā shā'a Llāh. So, the others who have not read the seerah, please make the intention that you will read at least one book, any book of the seerah, the biography of Rasulullah s.a.w. Say now we are almost at the end of this month, so say by the 30th of December, before this year ends, in shā'a Llāh, you will read at least one book of the seerah, of the life of Rasulullah s.a.w. Right? Okay? Do that. In shā'a Llāh. Because the thing is that to love Rasulullah s.a.w., to love Rasulullah s.a.w., not just to love him, but to love him more than we love anything else, is a requirement of Islam. It is something which we as Muslims, we do and we should do. But also, a theological requirement in Islam. This has been commanded by Allah s.w.t. in the Qur'an. Allah s.w.t. in surah Tawbah, Allah s.w.t. says, Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala said in Surah At-Tawbah Say to them, Ya Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam قُلْ Say to them إِنْ كَانَ خَبَابُكُمْ If your fathers and mothers وَأَمْنَاوْلُ and your children وَإِخْوَانُكُمْ and your siblings وَأَزْوَاجُكُمْ and your spouses وَعَشِينَتُكُمْ and your extended family وَأَمْبَالُنِي تَرَفْتُمْهَا and the wealth that you accumulate وَتِجَارَةً تَخْشَوْنَا كَسَدْهَا and your tijara, your business and trade in which you fear a loss وَمَسَاكِنُ تَرْضَوْنَهَا and your houses, your palaces, your villas, your flats, your apartments which you build or you buy and you love them, you look at them, you feel happy about them أَحَبَّ إِلَيْكُمْ If these are more beloved to you أَحَبَّ إِلَيْكُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِ More beloved to you than Allah and His Rasul Allah says فَتَرَبَّسُ Allah says get away Go away فَتَرَبَّسُ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ اللَّهُ بِأَمْرِهِ Go away and wait for the Amr of Allah Wait for the Azab of Allah Wait for the punishment of Allah And then Allah real forces that and says وَاللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِ الْقَوْمَ الْفَاسِطِينَ Allah does not guide people who are rebellious Right? So the love of the Rasul ﷺ To love Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala And to love the Rasul ﷺ More than we love anyone and anything else Is not just a matter of discretion It's not just a matter of our nature It's a matter of our nature It's not because Rasul ﷺ was in any case a person Who is very easy to love Because he was such a beautiful being It is a religious requirement If somebody says I follow Islam But I'm sorry I don't love Rasul ﷺ This person is out of Islam This person has put himself in a place Where Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala promised punishment He has said I will punish Right? Now how can you love somebody you don't know? To love somebody you have to know the right You can't love a stranger That is the reason why it is important To read the life of Rasul ﷺ To read his seerah Now the beautiful thing you will see Those of you who have read the seerah You will agree with me Those of you who have not read the seerah But you read it you will agree with me The beautiful thing about the seerah of Rasul ﷺ That unlike anyone else In the world Rasul ﷺ the more you know him The more the closer you get to him The more you love him The more you respect him Now this is not true of anyone else In English we say familiarity breeds contempt Right? This happens with a lot of people You look at somebody from a distance And say oh mashallah wonderful man Then for whatever reason you get close to that person You start going to their house You know you get close to that person You sort of Being with them the whole time You see their personal domestic life You see how they treat their spouse Or how they treat their children And how they treat you know their people who work for them And you start seeing faults You start seeing things which you don't like Right? You start seeing things which are No it is not that you have become suddenly critical No This is the nature When you get close to people The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The The Right? Very, very closely. So, that's where I want to start from. Now, in the Seerah of the Prophet, you will find that there are many instances of young people who were around him. There is one of the, you must invite him, the Aadikos Maitra of Srivastava, there is a very famous, very eminent professor, who is in the American Kuwait, American University, called Professor Hisham Al-Awadi. Now, he is a professor of history, and he is a wonderful speaker. You must invite him here to speak to you. He has written many books, and he has written many, there are many videos and classes that are there on YouTube. Professor Hisham Al-Awadi. Make a note of his name. And one of the books he has written is Children Around the Prophet, Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. Children Around the Prophet. A very nice, very interesting book. And he has documented that, who were the young people around Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. For example, one of the most famous of them was Abdullah ibn Abbas, Qadir al-Anub. The son, he was actually, he was the son of the Prophet. He was the son of the Prophet. He was the son of the Prophet. He was the son of the Prophet. He was actually the cousin of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. He was the son of al-Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib, who was the uncle of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, Qadir al-Anub. And Abdullah ibn Abbas was therefore his cousin. And Abdullah ibn Abbas lived with Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. He actually lived in his house. And he has quoted many hadiths, and he is known, his title was Al-Bahar, the ocean. And that is the ocean of knowledge. And he is called the ocean of knowledge. Very interesting, very interesting anecdote. He says that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, now imagine, this is a little boy. At that time, he must have been about 10. Anybody here who is 10 years old? 10? Others are somewhere less than 10? Okay. Abdullah ibn Abbas was your age. He was 10 years old. Right? Are you 10? Are you 10 years old? Are you 10 years old? Okay. 12, right. Who is 10? Okay, good. So, 12 years old Abdullah, you are almost there. So, good, you are 10. Now, Abdullah ibn Abbas was your age. Right? So, listen to this. Abdullah ibn Abbas was your age. And he says that, I saw Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam waking up and getting up for Salatul Fajr, so I ran to get water for his wudu. Now, for Tahajjud, not Salatul Fajr, for Qamulain. So, he says, I saw Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam getting up for Qamulain, for Tahajjud, so I ran to get water for his wudu. So, what do you understand from this? First of all, you understand that, he must have been in the same room, obviously. So, he is sleeping, maybe on the floor, maybe on another cot or something, and he is not just sleeping half-wake. He is a 10-year-old kid, he is tired out today, he is gone completely. You have to give him electric shock to wake him. No. He is half-awake. Even though Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam is sleeping, this little boy is kind of sleeping, and waking and keeping his eye on Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam throughout the night. Can you imagine? What kind of love, what kind of sense of where he is? He does not say, oh, this is my cousin. No. He says, this is the Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, this is the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. Think about this on a scientific point of view, think about this. When you look at the people, say, Sayyidina Aisha Siddique Hardelal. Who was Sayyidina Aisha Siddique Hardelal? The wife of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. So also Qadidatul Qubra Hardelal and the other wives. Who was Fatima Tuzahra Hardelal? His daughter. Who was Ali bin Abi Talib Hardelal? His cousin. Who was Abu Bakr Siddique Hardelal? His best friend. There is not one single, and I can give you a long list, not necessary, the point I am making, there is not one single instance where Sayyidina Aisha Siddique Hardelal or any of the wives, they called him by name. Ya Muhammad. Ya Muhammad. Oh my husband. Never. Never. Ajeeb. He was their husband. They couldn't call him Ya Muhammad. Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. Khadija Hardelal was older than him. So even more reasons she could have called him Ya Muhammad. Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. Never. There is not one instance where Sayyidina Ali Radheelal for example or Abdullah Ibn Abbas somebody, who called him Ya Akhi. He was their brother. He was his cousin. Ya Akhi. No. Not one time did Abu Bakr Siddique Radheelal, his closest friend, the best friend, about whom Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said the last khutbah he gave on the Thursday, he passed away. On the Monday, following Monday, last khutbah he gave on Thursday in Salatul Maghrib. And he said, I have returned all the favors, anyone who has done anything for me, I have returned all those favors to them. Allah is my witness. Except for Abu Bakr. And Abu Bakr,
