Auto-generated transcript:As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. And we care for others in fundamental ways by enjoining good and forbidding evil. We don't care for them by pretending to be popular or doing whatever is trendy. We do solid work. In that context, what I want to say to you that one of the things that is happening in America is for various reasons. I don't want to go into all the reasons. But for various reasons, what is happening in America is the alienation of immigrants or the children of immigrants. They are being... They are being alienated. They are being seen as different. They are being seen as people who don't contribute, who don't count. And therefore, people who are at best a nuisance and at worst, they should find a way of getting rid of them. Now, that is not a good situation to be in. So we are talking right now about how we can smiling the House, but at worst, we should be able to say, Oh brother, I don't have money. A lot of them are well not that many. tests are going to be sleeping out there. This whole time schedule is coming to a difficult situation because of that. And also, there are limitations. In something happens protesting and that protesting also is usually for something which has happened or happening in some foreign country like currently what's going on with regard to paris then how's that by all means do that nothing wrong with that should do it but how many muslims took part in the black lives matter protests why not how many muslims are protesting because the majority of population in the prisons are the african-american people of this country majority by a big margin he's asked uh brother salahuddin he's he's part of the of the of the system of uh where he gives a whole lot of khutbas and so on in the prisons vast majority there are many such indicators which i can tell you but i don't think it's necessary let me ask you to think about it yourself i mentioned this in my khutba several times for example i mentioned to you and i said to you and i think i said to you at least two years ago all of the people who are protesting in the prisons are the people who are protesting all of the people who are protesting in the prisons are the people who are protesting in the prisons all of you here have children who go to the public schools how many of you are on those public school boards this masjid has been here for 40 years in 40 years how many people from this masjid were on the public school boards of west springfield 40 years is two generations at least maybe three generations of children who have passed to those schools how many muslims from this budget have been on the school boards how many of you have volunteered for and stood for and applied for positions in the town council in the city council there are many positions available in the city council how many of you have volunteered for that how many of you have volunteered for that and been rejected i sometimes tell people show me a rejection letter you cannot show me a rejection letter because you never applied but you are living in this town think about that you are living in this town your children are going to these schools and large numbers we are not talking here about small large numbers we are not talking here about small large numbers we are not talking here about small numbers large numbers but all the decisions that are taken concerning your children numbers large numbers but all the decisions that are taken concerning your children somebody else is taking them not you and not because there is discrimination not because nobody let us come there not because they don't like muslims none of that it's just because you don't care it's your children who are going to live in this town not mine My Raj still with Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala So when do you want to change this? Biggie comes here There is a council which Determines what happens there How many of you guys are on that council? It's also a great business opportunity You know, millions of dollars worth of business So what are you waiting for? Tell me What are you waiting for? The rule that Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala made in this world is If you want something, you got to go and work for it Nothing comes for free Please understand this Nothing Zero You want something, you have to go and get it And I have lived in different countries I have traveled in many different countries For this country, I can tell you The level of freedom The level of equality The level of equal opportunity The level of non-discrimination Is unprecedented I'm not saying there's no discrimination Of course there is There will always be I can give you a list of countries Where it is a million times more than this Here it's not there But effort has to be made Effort must be made I'm on the advisory council of Westfield State University I'm on the advisory council of Springfield College Which is not part of the chaplaincy job These are additional things which come to me Because of my relationship with those people Right? Normally, the reflection or the benediction Of any commencement is done by the director of religious affairs Not any chaplain There are Jewish chaplains, there are Christian chaplains There are Catholic chaplains But Springfield College for the last 3 years Westfield College, Westfield University for this year They invite me I'm not boasting, I'm just telling you That I am proving to you live That it can be done And you know and I know I don't wear a suit there They know what I look like They know what I will wear And I go the full 9 yards Turn on my head, the works I'm welcomed, I'm honored to the extent Westfield State University, there is a person who is in charge of what is called the robbing. You know, they were the, they actually, they're actually wearing a mishra and a thob. They just don't know it. I told them, I said, this is the origin of this whole thing. It has an Islamic, they were shocked, they were absolutely shocked. They said, really, I say, yeah? This came from, from our universities. What you're wearing today is a Islamic dress. The flat hat you wear is the Quran on your head. How does all that happen? How does this conversation even happen? We do interfaith work in this masjid. There are two people, where Allah has mercy. But you are living in the middle of a country which is not a Muslim country. How many of you know your non-Muslim neighbors? First name basis. How many of you have non-Muslim neighbors who, if you leave your trash bin outside, they bring it and put it in your garage? How many of you got that? You're living in a country where you're not a Muslim. Now, brothers and sisters, please wake up. Please wake up. Decide. You want to live in this country? Then live in this country like this is your country. Because it is your country. Which means contribute. Which means participate. Which means get involved. Not sit on the, on the sidelines somewhere, and then something hurts you, and then you start, start crying and say, oh, this was. No. This is a fake story. Oh, oh. You get involved, you develop want more, and t registers. And then you grow. You and me grow. But has the mind set on a higher level to try and represent what it believes itself is. Jeff, he saw in his sins. He saw a kind of disgusting Thai woman being noticed outside long ago. Due to his latest puberty in Asia. Very broad. Yes. You say she excellent. Oh, she even said that I'mCoceoplars. I've roserenor. Yes. I'm Co continuity statistics. Okay. Oh, I tell the truth. And I actually I was giving. She didn't say that to me. Okay? And she gave her I. And I'm good at the basics. Yeah. Bi 물론. You just see it. Yeah. Please, participate. Whichever town, I know not everybody is from West Springfield, you are different towns, go there, talk to the people, meet people, participate. Let people know you. And you let people know you by doing something, not by asking for something. Live in this country like it is your country, because it is your country. Especially, I'm talking about the second generation people here. All these corpuscles in the bloodstream are carrying American flags. Keep him in Pakistan without air conditioning for 10 minutes, he's dead. His father will live there for 10 years, nothing will happen, he won't even break into a sweat. Don't worry. So really I'm saying, I'm pulling his leg because he's like my son. But my point is, that this is the reality of children who are born here. This is your country, you better believe it. So take care of it. Make sure you count. Make sure you contribute, because then you will have power. You will have authority. You will have position. It doesn't come by asking for it. It's not, you can't buy it in Walmart. You got to work for it. And I told you, I have, I have set an example, a living example for you and Allah is my witness. You can't say it can't be done. If I can do it, you can do it 10 times faster. The reason you are not doing it is because you're sitting on your sit upon and doing nothing. Right? So, get real. We ask Allah SWT to help us to understand, to face facts and to do things which are beneficial for us. And may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon the Prophet and his family. May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him.
