Auto-generated transcript:Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. Alhamdulillahi Rabbil Alameen. Wassalatu wassalamu ala ashrafil anbiya wal mursaleen. Muhammadur Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa ala alihi wa sahbihi wasallam tasliman kathiran kathira. Fumma baadu.
My brothers and sisters. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala created this world. And sent us to live in this world. And sent us a complete plan, a road map of how to live in this world. From the beginning to the end, from the time you are born to the time you die. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala sent us a complete plan. There is no deficiency in that plan. There is nothing missing in that plan. Nothing has to be added in. Nothing has to be subtracted. And that plan is called Al-Islam.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala did not just send the plan and leave it to us to read it and interpret it and understand it according to our own understanding. But Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala also sent along with the plan. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala sent that plan with a teacher, with a guide. The plan did not come to us directly. The plan came to the teacher and the teacher taught it to us. And that teacher is Muhammad Rasool Allah sallallahu alaihi wa alaihi wa sallam. And that is why the Kitab and the Sunnah are the two guides for us to live our life in this world. There is nothing other than the Kitab and the Sunnah. Anyone who brings anything which is other than the Kitab of Allah, the Quran al-Kareem, and the Sunnah of Rasool Allah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, then this is something which is prohibited. It is a bid'ah which is haram. We are not permitted to use that, no matter who it is.
We know Allah and we know His Nabi alayhi salatu wasalam. That's it. Anyone else we know through them. We respect the ulama. We respect the... Al-Quran. I hesitate to use the word awliya with respect to specific people because Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala did not specify any individual and say that this is my wali.
Please understand this. This is a source of all kinds of confusion. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala specified the anbiya alayhi wa sallam. The prophets and He named them. Inna arsalna noohan ila qawmi. Allah did not say we sent a message. No. We sent. No. Alayhi salam.
Right?
And so on and so on and so on. Salih alayhi salam and Lut alayhi salam and Ibrahim alayhi salam and Musa alayhi salam and Isa alayhi salam and Muhammadur Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam to all of humanity. Allah mentioned them by name.
But anyone other than that, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala did not mention by name and say, so and so is my wali or was my wali. Allah did not say this. About the awliya, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala made a statement where Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala said, Allah said, Allah is the wali of the believers.
And what does Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala do when Allah is the wali? What does it mean? He says,
He takes them out of darkness into light.
Right? This is the sign of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala being the wali of the believers. Now the wali, in the Arabic language, there are many words to describe friendship, different grades of friendship. And in these grades of friendship, the closest of grades, of friendship is, wiliya, is wali. Wali is somebody who is, who is a party to all your secrets. That person has access to everything that you have. To the innermost part of your house, he has access to your bank account, he has access to your, all your secrets. So when we use the word wali with respect to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, we have to understand that there is a difference.
Like there is a difference between, difference with respect to all the words that we use, connected with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. Allah, we say Allah is al-basir. He is the one who sees. But the basarat of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is not like yours and mine.
Allah sees, you also see. But we are not the same.
The basarat of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is, in keeping with His majesty and grace.
Allah is as-sameer. He is the one who, hears. But the samaat of Allah, is not like yours and mine.
Allah is kalim. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala speaks. But His kalam is not the same as your kalam and my kalam.
So when we say wali, when we have wilaya, the first and foremost thing in any friendship is, equality.
With Allah there is no equality. Allah is our Rabb. And we are, the ibad of Allah. We are the slaves of Allah. And in this slavery, there is honour.
The greatest honour is to be, a obedient slave of Allah. Abdan shakura. The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam said about himself, should I not be a grateful slave? In the famous hadith of Aisha Siddiqua radiallahu anha, which is in Bukhari and Muslim, Mutafakun alaih. She said that, I asked Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wasallam, she said that, the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam would stand in salah, and she said, for so long, that the skin of his blessed feet would crack.
We're just standing in one place. The feet would swell.
When you go on long flights and so on, you wear pressure stocks, so that feet don't swell, right? He used to stand, for so many hours, that his feet would swell and the skin would crack. She said to him, Ya Rasulullah, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, has revealed Quran, in surah al-Quran, in the ayat, the ayat is very clear, He has revealed Quran to say, that He has forgiven your sins.
Both taqaddam wa ta'akhar, before and after, everything.
Whatever may be there. This does not mean that Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wasallam used to commit sins. You have to understand this whole thing in context.
She said, Ya Rasulullah, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has forgiven everything. Why do you need to? Put yourself to so much takleef.
Nabi sallallahu alaihi wasallam said, Should I not be an abdan shakoora? Should I not be a grateful slave?
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, honoured Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wasallam, more than he honoured any other of his creatures. Anyone else? Nabi sallallahu alaihi wasallam is honoured more, than any human being? Nabi sallallahu alaihi wasallam is honoured more, than any of the Malak? Malak? More than Jibreel alaihi wasallam? Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala honoured Nabi sallallahu alaihi wasallam more than everything? All makhluk?
And how did he refer to him? What did he call him? Subhanallazi asra bi'abdihi bi'abdihi laylan minal masjidil haram ilal masjidil aqsa alladhi barakna hawlahu li nuriyahu min ayatina innahu huwa samiul basrihi abdihi The same ayah Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala could have said Subhanallazi asra bi'rasoolihi He is the Rasool of Allah.
The meaning would not be anything wrong but that is not the ayat of the Quran. If somebody recites Subhanallazi asra bi'rasoolihi you say Astaghfirullah what are you talking about? If the Imam makes a mistake for example in salah and he Subhanallazi asra bi'rasoolihi what will he do? You will correct the Imam.
If the Imam argues no no he is the Rasool Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala honoured him in a particular way the love of the word of the Quran is abdihi Abdullah we are Ibadullah The reason I am saying this is because this is the confusion.
We confuse ourselves and we feel that somewhere we have got we have free will yes we have free will but we have free will in the way of Ibadullah Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala somebody asked in one debate they said who created shaitan? Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala created shaitan. So you are saying that Allah created evil and he created good? What is the answer? Allah did not create evil.
Whatever Allah created is good. But Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala gave ikhtiyar Allah gave free will to the jinn and the human beings. Iblis is what? Jinn. He chose to use it in a wrong way.
So he became evil.
The fact that Iblis shaitan is shaitan the fact that Iblis is Iblis the mujassima the embodiment of evil the responsibility is whose? His own.
Allah did not make him evil. If Allah made him evil then it would be injustice. You make me evil then you put me in jahannam. Allah did not make him evil. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala made him good and he was good. He was good until he committed the sin of disobedience of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. He was so good that as a jinn he was elevated to the level of the malaika. Because the first and foremost Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is speaking to the malaika with respect to Adam alaihi salam what is this jinn doing there? Why is he even there in the first place?
Because he was so good. Because of his ibadat because of his obedience to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala he was raised to that level. To be with the malaika.
Allah said He is from the jinn. He is not a malaq. Yet he was with the malaika. With the creatures who only obey Allah. Because they do not have free will. Malaika do not have free will.
Just yesterday as I mentioned in yesterday's khatira which I did not do today. I did not do here. But it will come to you in this thing. One of our friends from California Egyptian husband and wife they lost all five children at the same time. All five children. Imagine the kind of tragedy we are talking about. Five children. One son, four daughters. All gone. So, the last thing we have to do is to say that, God is the creator of this world. And the response of the father and mother. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajiv. They said we have dedicated our children to Allah. Now the reason I mention this is. Their souls were taken by Malakul Maut. Malakul Maut. The angel of death. So when Malakul Maut gets the hukam. Take the souls of five children. Malakul Maut does not say Allah leave one. Leave one. Those parents. They will be so sad. All five children. Their children.
They do. The Malaika do as they have been commanded. There is no. Iqtiyaat. They don't have any free will. But Jinn and human beings, they have free will. And Iblis. Iblis disobeyed Allah . And went to Jahannam. Why? Because of the same issue. The same issue which we do. And that is this confusion. We think we have free will. Yes you have free will. But you are Abdullah.
