Show Notes

What does a battle card game have to do with breaking addiction?

Everything — when the battlefield is your mind.

In this episode of Faith Over Addiction, host Tanya Gioia sits down with Jai Roza, creator of Eden's Conflict, a cooperative scripture-vs-temptation card game born from his own journey through addiction, spiritual identity crisis, and near-death despair. Jai opens up about struggling with pornography addiction, substance abuse, dyslexia, ADHD, childhood trauma, and a season of communing with spirits in New Age practices — and how God used unexpected moments, a broken bong, and a DVD on prophecy to redirect his path. Together, Tanya and Jai explore the power of choice in the face of temptation, what it means to stand in the gap for someone you love, and why your transformation may be the very key that unlocks theirs.

KEY POINTS

1. Satan's greatest trick is convincing you that you have no choice.

2. You can honor God in your sin, even when you can't honor God with your sin.

3. Stop focusing only on removing — start focusing on what you're bringing in.

4. God works with your willingness, not your perfection.

5. Loving someone through addiction can become idolatry.

6. You can stand in the gap by proxy.

7. Your transformation is their greatest opportunity.

8. Memorized scripture is twice as powerful as scripture you read.

9. Don't forget how God has led you in the past.

Are you caught in the chaos of addiction, constantly cleaning up emotional, spiritual, and physical messes that aren't yours? Welcome to Faith Over Addiction, where faith meets real life. Hosted by Family Recovery Coach Tanya Gioia, this podcast is designed to offer Christian women hope, healing, and practical tools to navigate the challenges of loving someone with addiction.

Through biblical truths, heartfelt stories, and actionable guidance, you’ll learn how to set healthy boundaries, find peace in the mess, and reclaim your God-given identity. You don’t have to carry what was never meant to be yours. It’s time to shift from “this is happening to me” to “this is happening for me,” and let God transform the chaos into something that glorifies Him.

Every week, I’m here to encourage you, offer clarity, and remind you that as a daughter of the King, You Always Have Other Options (YAHOO). Together, we’ll embrace faith as the foundation, boundaries as the bridge to healing, and God’s truth as the ultimate guide to freedom, strength, and grace.

Blessings,

Tanya Gioia 🌸
