652. Officer Involved Shooting of Elroy Clark
Last week in Charlotte County Florida, dispatch received a call about a disturbance just outside of Punta Gorda. Deputies arrived and made contact with owner of the property, Elroy Clark. More deputies were called to assist. They attempted to detain Clark, but he resisted. He became agitated and non compliant to verbal commands. Tasers, batons and OC were deployed to little effect. London Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mark Rowley said in an interview that London police would extradite and jail Americans for online posts about riots in the UK. Apparently the redcoats are in a snit about false rumors spread online that an asylum seeker was responsible for a mass stabbing at a Taylor Swift-themed dance event that left three girls dead and others wounded. Their suspect is someone who immigrated to the UK-- so for Merry Ol' England it's a crisis of national identity, politics, and of course, silencing anyone who speaks out against the crown. The Presidential Candidate no one asked for has picked for the running mate no one asked for. Governor Tim Walz, one of the masterminds who has brought Minnesota to its knees will be on the ticket. In 2020, he failed to call the National Guard to quell the riots that destroyed businesses, grocery stores, and affordable housing developments-- because didn't want to offend those screaming to "defund the police". His leadership saw police precincts and cities burn with zero consequences for rioters, arsonists and looters. His appointees failed to stop $250 million in embezzlement from hungry kids. Or is there another perspective? Police officer Tyler and former police officer Eric take a look at the case and will talk tactics, what went right and what went wrong in the case.
