Ralph Schmidt joins us for another episode of Unholy Passion, our monthly show. This week, we walk about Fair No More's "Angel Dust" record and discuss the band's overall importance in the development of heavy music throughout the 90's and into the new century.

Most of me probably know that Randy and I into the band Keverra based in LA. What some of you may not know is that my friendship with Mateo, their drummer goes back several years when Tombs did a short tour with 16 who he was playing drums for at the time. We had a great talk, covered a lot of ground and answered a lot of questions that I've always wanted to ask.

Randy and I get together in person for the second episode of the our recurring, monthly show. It’s easy to dismiss GG Allin as purely shock, but we dig, unapologetically into his creative output and develop the argument that he is a crucial element in “extreme” culture. This week, we have an interview with one of the raddest ladies that I know, CeCe Loessin of the infamous Zucchini Kill Bakery in Austin, TX. We met way back when I drove and tour managed Wormrot; CeCe was driving Phobia and eventually ended up playing guitar for them. Anyway, we kept in touch over the years and I was stoked when she announced that she was opening Zucchini Kill Bakery, a vegan haven for treats, sick music, and good coffee. CeCe shares some of her experiences as an independent business owner during the 2020 pandemic as well as the Texas Utilities Disaster.

One of my best friends Ralph Schmidt of the excellent band Ultha, joins us for a trans-Atlantic discussion of one of mutually favorite movies of the past year, the Todd Phillip's directed Joker starring Joaquin Phoenix and Robert De Niro. Despite the "woke" crowd denouncing the movie as "just another angry White Man" movie, the film killed it at the box office pulling in over a billion dollars. Not only is it the end of the year, but it's the end of another decade. I run this episode solo and list my top 10 records of the last decade as well as some ruminations of where we are as a culture in my opinion.

Halloween, by far is my favorite time of the year. It has it's own soundtrack that accompanies the darkening skies and is a primer for winter, the mightiest season. A few week’s ago, I reviewed “Knucklehead” the debut novel by Adam Smyers. Through the magic of social media, Adam and I were able to connect and he was kind enough to be this week’s guest. I’m going to log my opinion about the Jonas Ackerlund biopic Lords of Chaos, a film that has apparently been in the works for 20 plus years. I’m sure a lot of you have your opinions about this film as well. Initially, I was dubious about this film even existing, but ultimately I think as a fan of the music, it’s an important film to at least check out and comment on it. I’ve counted Ryan Patterson part of my inner circle of friends for over 2 decades, having met him back in the late 90’s when he was playing in a band called The National Acrobat. I’ve been tracking his career ever since, through a series of great bands including Coliseum, Black Cross among others. Ryan’s newest creative output is manifested in Fotocrime who’s debut LP “Principle of Pain” was released on his own Auxiliary Records in the US and Golden Antenna in Europe.
