The early church needed this reminder when facing compromise and persecution. We need it today when we're tempted to give up hope or get too comfortable with the status quo. Jesus isn't coming back as a baby in a manger. He's returning as the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, bringing both reward and judgment.
