Life in the city gets stressful. Traffic jams, work stresses, family issues… whatever it is that’s getting on your nerves - you might want to stop, pause and be mindful.

A practice with origins in Buddhist meditation, the past few decades have seen a surge of interest in “mindfulness” as a psychological construct, and as a form of clinical intervention.
Dr Ahmed Dahir Mohamed is one of many scientists across the world studying how it can be used to enhance cognitive functions and improve wellbeing. He’s a post-doctoral fellow in Cognitive and affective Neuroscience at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus.
