Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah was the 14th Ruler and Sultan of Terengganu from 1946 to 1979. He was also the 4th King of Malaysia from 1965 - 1970 and his reign was described as “a most eventful and glorious one” by then Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman. But many have no idea that he was an avid photographer, earning the reputation as the pioneer of modern Malaysian photography!
We spoke to his grandson and custodian of his works, Raja Ihsan Shah, about the royalty behind the lens.
