Show Notes

A family in Rawang is fighting to save their 97-year-old home, which might be one of the first in Malaysia to receive electricity supply. The colonial-era house may be demolished at any time to make way for the expansion of a quarry, unless it becomes gazetted as a national heritage. We speak with Jimmy Sidhu and Ranjit Sidhu about their family's struggle over the conservation of their home. Then we speak with Elizabeth Cardosa, President of Badan Warisan Malaysia, about what it takes for a site or building to be of national heritage value.
