Show Notes

Recently, The Star's R.AGE team released a documentary series that looks into the student trafficking trade. Foreign students are cheated by agents, extorted for money, and end up in Malaysian colleges which aren't actually interested in education. Now, R.AGE is getting Malaysian higher education institutions to pledge to end trafficking. We speak with Elroi Yee, Senior Producer of R.AGE, about the campaign. Then we talk to Danial Abdul Rahman, Press Secretary to the Minister of Higher Education, about the ministry's role in combating trafficking; as well as Professor Datuk Dr Khairuddin Ab Hamid, Vice-Chancellor of UNIMY, about their university's anti-trafficking practices.

Get your higher education institution to pledge to fight trafficking here.
