For as long as we can remember, we've heard about troubles between both North and South Korea. But this was heightened last Monday when North Korea fired 500 artillery shells and rockets off its southern coast (as part of its nuclear tests), and 100 of them fell south of a disputed border between the two Koreas. In reply, South Korea fired back with 300 artillery rounds into North Korean waters. The border was first drawn by the UN after the Korean war but its legitmacy has not been accepted by either side, with both sides claiming to be the legitimate government of the entire penisula. To understand the workings behind both North and South Korea, The Evening Edition covered a 101 of the countries' history.
