NC GOD INC and the Broward County PIT Count

The sources explain that the Point-in-Time (PIT) count is an annual census of sheltered and unsheltered individuals experiencing homelessness in Broward County. The count is required by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and helps determine federal funding for the county. The 2022 count identified 2,054 people experiencing homelessness in Broward County.

NC GOD INC proposes purchasing homes or motels with multiple bedrooms to house these individuals. They believe they can house 18 people per home if each of six bedrooms houses three people. Based on this calculation, NC GOD INC believes that 114 homes could house all 2,054 individuals identified in the PIT count. In addition to housing, NC GOD INC plans to offer job opportunities and skills development to residents to help them become self-sufficient. The sources also describe NC GOD INC's plans to revitalize Henry River Mill Village in North Carolina and create affordable housing, job training, and community support.
