The White House claims that the world is looking at the United States as "a leader" on the coronavirus pandemic. The United States leads the world in coronavirus deaths with more than 130,000. The White House defends Trump's claim that 99 percent of cases are4 "harmless" as the World Health Organization says 20 percent of the infected people with coronavirus need oxygen or hospital care. 32 states see spikes in coronavirus cases in the past week. 

The military is deploying medical personnel as Texas is seeing a coronavirus surge. Top doctors warn that the United States is in a "free fall" as the nation nears three million cases. ICU beds and ventilator use in Miami-Dade jumps more than 100 percent. 

Dr. Fauci says that the United States reopened too quickly, "we went up, never came down to baseline and now it's surging back up." Dr. Fauci also says that the United States is "still knee-deep in the first wave" and warns that the surge needs to be addressed "immediately" as the White House repeatedly downplays the United States coronavirus surge in new cases. 

The Atlanta mayor says she has coronavirus, but says that she doesn't have any symptoms.
