My Last Public Sermon

This message explores the Biblical ethics of privacy. In a world currently heralding the virtues of full-disclosure, would we be right to question this “supposed virtue” biblically? After all, “it is the glory of God to conceal a matter,” is it not? Our God knows all, but He doesn’t share everything He knows with everyone who asks to know. Our God shows discretion, and desires to ensure that He doesn’t share His pearls with swine. Then He encourages us to do the same.----------------------» Subscribe to the Eric Ludy Sermon Podcast on your favorite podcast app to get the sermon audios delivered to your device as they release: https://eric-ludy-sermons.captivate.fm/listen» Take these messages deeper and be discipled in person by Eric, Leslie, Nathan, and the team at Ellerslie in one of our upcoming discipleship programs – learn more at: https://ellerslie.com/be-discipled/» Receive our free “Five Keys to Walking Through Difficulty” PDF by going to: https://ellerslie.com/subscribe/» If you have been blessed by Ellerslie, consider partnering with the ministry by donating at: https://ellerslie.com/donate/» Discover more resources, books, and sermons from Eric Ludy by going to: https://ellerslie.com/about-eric-ludy/

After the War

When we face grief, trauma, difficulty or disaster—it changes us. God intended it to change us for the better, but, due to the enemy’s schemes, that isn’t always what ends up happening. Many of us have injuries sustained from past wars that have remained unaddressed inside of us. The rubble of previous bomb blasts still lies there on our inner streets. What is God’s solution to this? Does he want us just to live amidst the wreckage with an accepting attitude? Or does He actually want us to rise up and see our lives wholly rebuilt?----------------------» Subscribe to the Eric Ludy Sermon Podcast on your favorite podcast app to get the sermon audios delivered to your device as they release: https://eric-ludy-sermons.captivate.fm/listen» Take these messages deeper and be discipled in person by Eric, Leslie, Nathan, and the team at Ellerslie in one of our upcoming discipleship programs – learn more at: https://ellerslie.com/be-discipled/» Receive our free “Five Keys to Walking Through Difficulty” PDF by going to: https://ellerslie.com/subscribe/» If you have been blessed by Ellerslie, consider partnering with the ministry by donating at: https://ellerslie.com/donate/» Discover more resources, books, and sermons from Eric Ludy by going to: https://ellerslie.com/about-eric-ludy/

Stubborn as Saul

We have a problem in the church today. But, it’s not a new problem. It’s an ancient problem that often sneaks into the church undetected and messes up the whole operation. This sneaky invasion doesn’t sound all that dangerous when it’s described as stubbornness. But, if we were to call it divisiveness, everyone sits up a little straighter in their pews and takes notice. Stubbornness is the root of all the nasty denominationalism that currently rules the modern Church system. It’s time for it to go. But, if such a house-cleaning is to commence, it first must start inside our own individual souls.----------------------» Subscribe to the Eric Ludy Sermon Podcast on your favorite podcast app to get the sermon audios delivered to your device as they release: https://eric-ludy-sermons.captivate.fm/listen» Take these messages deeper and be discipled in person by Eric, Leslie, Nathan, and the team at Ellerslie in one of our upcoming discipleship programs – learn more at: https://ellerslie.com/be-discipled/» Receive our free “Five Keys to Walking Through Difficulty” PDF by going to: https://ellerslie.com/subscribe/» If you have been blessed by Ellerslie, consider partnering with the ministry by donating at: https://ellerslie.com/donate/» Discover more resources, books, and sermons from Eric Ludy by going to: https://ellerslie.com/about-eric-ludy/

Only the Sweet Ones

The enemy is cunning, and he accomplishes most of his tomfoolery in our lives under the banner of seemingly harmless things (ie. a little bit of unforgiveness, a little bit of overeating, a little bit of gossip). On the face of it, these petty little crimes seem like they shouldn’t cause much havoc in our lives. But when we look a little closer, we realize that most of our problems, as believers, stem back to these seemingly innocuous inlet points. The enemy banks on the fact that we will deem our “harmless misdemeanors” as petty and unworthy of a closer look. Whereas the strength of the Christian life is found when we allow the Holy Spirit to touch us in these very places.

The Man Test

Humanity has a default definition of success. There is a measure of earthly achievement—and we all strangely know it. The problem is, this earthly idea doesn’t match God’s definition and God’s measurement for success. This discrepancy often plays havoc in the believer’s life. As young believers, we often launch out into life attempting to build up the skills, the knowledge, and the aptitude to succeed in a manner that will cause an outbreak of applause amongst the world, while, often, God isn’t stirred one bit by the sight of our pathetic endeavors. But, what if we launched out into life with a vision to be shaped for success in the precise way that God defines success? If we did, then we would be built to pass “The Man Test” with flying colors.------------» Take these messages deeper and be discipled in person by Eric, Leslie, Nathan, and the team at Ellerslie in one of our upcoming discipleship programs – learn more at: https://ellerslie.com/be-discipled/» Receive our free “Five Keys to Walking Through Difficulty” PDF by going to: https://ellerslie.com/subscribe/» If you have been blessed by Ellerslie, consider partnering with the ministry by donating at: https://ellerslie.com/donate/» Discover more resources, books, and sermons from Eric Ludy by going to: https://ellerslie.com/about-eric-ludy/

The Snickering of the Saints

The Devil is famous for the sly laugh he dishes out when he sees the saints of God backed into a difficult situation. He snickers. He mocks the saints of God who have put their confidence in the Almighty. He badgers them with accusations and lays the revilement on thick. But, it’s high time that the saints of God turn the tables on this satanic nonsense. For our God will not be mocked. The one enthroned in heaven is the one doing the laughing. And, last time I checked, we are seated in heavenly places in Christ. I guess that means, we are in the One doing the holy snickering. ------------» Take these messages deeper and be discipled in person by Eric, Leslie, Nathan, and the team at Ellerslie in one of our upcoming discipleship programs – learn more at: https://ellerslie.com/be-discipled/» Receive our free “Five Keys to Walking Through Difficulty” PDF by going to: https://ellerslie.com/subscribe/» If you have been blessed by Ellerslie, consider partnering with the ministry by donating at: https://ellerslie.com/donate/» Discover more resources, books, and sermons from Eric Ludy by going to: https://ellerslie.com/about-eric-ludy/

Perfection

The idea of "perfection" has been a tripping point for countless believers. After all, if Jesus said that we must be perfect just as our Heavenly Father is perfect, I guess we ought to try and pull it off. And yet, everyone who has tried to live perfectly in their own gumption has failed to pull it off. This message confronts this seeming conundrum and shares "how" God intended us to walk out this impossible commission.

Smashing

The word "smashing" has two meanings. To crush. And, something that is beautiful. It's interesting how the Christian life is built to reveal those two "smashings." On one hand, we are called to crush the spiritual powers that oppress the weak. And on the other hand, we are called to be beautified by the Holy Spirit, to be a Bride, holy and blameless. When we get these two "smashing" dimensions of the Christian life humming, the power of the Kingdom of Heaven is revealed on earth.

Ready for It

God is doing something in the world right now. As believers, this is what we have been praying for--this is what we have been aching to see. But, now that it is here, are we ready to receive it? Are we ready to change our lives in order to get in stride with it?

Into the Storm

The Church finds itself in a unique and exciting time in Christian history. And there has likely never been a time more apropos to rise up in the authority, the power, and the majesty of Jesus Christ. A functional, faith-filled, fervent Church is an absolute dread to the Devil. It's high time we cause a panic in Hell.

The Sacred Voice

A strange delusion has settled upon the world. A delusion so strong that it could almost be termed "mind-control.” And “mind-control” is a fitting term for it, because biblically speaking, the mind was designed by God to be controlled. However, if God is not invited in to be the mind's “controller” then something other than God will move in to that preeminent position. The question this message presents is, “Has anything other than God claimed that control position in your life?”

The Subjective Place

The Church of Jesus Christ has struggled with contention and division for two thousand years. Paul's letters to the church at Corinth show us that contention and division isn’t a new issue facing the Church. But, it’s important to note that if this problem isn’t new that neither is the solution. This is a message about that ancient solution.

The Top Step

Most believers know that Christianity is supposed to be a relationship between God and man, but, even with knowing that, most believers never enjoy a real vibrant relationship with Him. The Hammer Blow

One of the most difficult issues to discuss today in the Church is that of abuse. It’s awkward, strained, and difficult. It’s emotional, confusing, and complex. And that’s just the way the Devil likes it. Which is why a message like this is necessary. This message dives into this hairy matter, counteracting the most common Devilish lies (associated with abuse) with the power of Biblical Truth. We hope you are richly encouraged by this important meditation.

Conquering Everest

As Christians, we sometimes struggle with understanding the difference between a capital “F” Faith that we place in Christ for Salvation and a lowercase “f” faith that we place in Christ for handling each of our life’s daily challenges. Both versions of faith are of great importance, but when the distinction between the two is never supplied to the believer, it can lead to confusion and even non-action in a time when vigorous faith action is required. Using the imagery of scaling Mt. Everest, this message is designed to help a Christian understand the practical function of faith in both their eternal life and their daily life today.

The Last Flight of the Pterodactyl

If there was a sub-title to this message it would be, “the sad disappearance of chasing butterflies and blowing bubbles in the Church.” Let’s face it—the rigors, the challenges, and the seriousness of this world seems to demand that we all grow up and pitch in to help steer this world from the edge of eternal destruction. And it would be a reasonable conclusion that there’s simply no time now to spla sh in puddles, catch fireflies, and skip rocks down at Chatfield dam anymore. Right? After all, Christianity is a serious business. But, this serious business of Christianity was never intended to be lived out by boring, stale, dull, unenthusiastic adults. It was meant to be lived out by born again believers set on fire with awe, wonder, thrill, and worship. It was meant to be lived out with unmuted childlikeness. May it not be said of us that the pterodactyl has flown its last flight.
