Ryan Perri and a bunch of friends had an idea one night at a bar in South Philly. One of their friends was going through a rough patch. They wanted to cheer him up. They knew that if they just sent him cash via Venmo he'd probably just pocket the money and not get off the couch. So, over some brews they came up with an app called BruYou, where you can buy yourself or your friends' beers at local bars. Because the app pays the bar right away, the recipient has no choice but to go to that establishment to get the brew.
After that night at the bar, Ryan and his friends knew they had something. Fast forward to late 2020 and the Covid-19 pandemic. The app morphed into a way to support your local watering hole.
Now in 2022, BruYou is going strong, and this side hustle might become a main hustle soon.
