Cristal Traoré est la Fondatrice et Presidente de l'ONG D.E.F.I.S basée à Abidjan. Psychologue de formation, Cristal est née et a grandi en CÎte d'Ivoire. Apres des études supérieures en France et un début de carriÚre dans l'insertion professionnelle, elle décide de rentrer en CÎte d'Ivoire dans le cadre d'une mise à disposition professionnelle pour lancer un projet d'ordre caritatif.
Créée en 2012, l'ONG D.E.F.I.S forme des publics féminins vulnérables aux métiers de l'enfance.
D.E.F.I.S signifie DĂ©veloppement Enfance Formation Insertion Socio-Professionnelle.
Cristal nous raconte la crĂ©ation de l'ONG, les challenges notamment d'ordre financier du secteur caritatif en CĂŽte d'Ivoire et ses projets Ă court et moyen terme. Elle partage Ă©galement avec les auditeurs son rĂȘve de creation d'une crĂšche solidaire.

Cristal TraorĂ© is the Founder & CEO of NGO D.E.F.I.S, a charity based in Abidjan, CĂŽte d'Ivoire. A trained occupational psychologist she grew up in Abidjan and is now based in France. In 2012, she took a leave of absence from her employer for 5 years and went back to CĂŽte dâIvoire with the aim of launching a project in the charity sector.
In French, D.Ă.F.I.S means DĂ©veloppement Enfance Formation Insertion Socio-Professionnelle (Development, Childhood, Training, Socio-Professional Integration)
The NGO has two focus areas:
- Children and the early stages of development are at the heart of our mission.
- The training and socio-professional integration of vulnerable female populations.
Cristal describes vulnerable female groups as women who are illiterate or who were not fortunate enough to get a post-secondary education. These groups include single-parent families or women with a higher education but who have been unemployed for over 4 or 5 years because they did not manage to find a job.
Cristal shares her journey with setting up the NGO, the challenges of the non-profit sector in CĂŽte d'Ivoire and her goals in the short and medium term. You will also hear about her ultimate dream to create a solidarity creche.
