Show Notes

Heather Morris, author of The Tattooist of Auschwitz, unveils her next World War Two novel, The Piano Teacher of Montparnasse, releasing October twentieth from Blackstone Publishing. Set in Nazi-occupied Paris, the story is inspired by the family tale of Grammy and Emmy-nominated composer Kara Talve. The narrative revolves around Josephine, a young Jewish girl whose family faces Nazi arrest, and her piano teacher Andrée, a French Resistance fighter who risks everything to protect her. Morris collaborated with Talve on the TV adaptation of her debut book, and the new novel draws inspiration from Talves grandmother. With her first novel selling millions and sparking historical debates, Morris continues to captivate readers with her follow-ups. This new book promises to showcase everyday heroes resisting the darkness and highlighting resilience under fire.
