Ryan Coogler, the Oscar-winning director, is set to executive produce a new Disney+ series based on the classic Animorphs books. The series, produced by Twentieth Television, will follow a group of high school students who discover an alien invasion and use their ability to morph into animals to fight back. The show will be written by Bayan Wolcott and produced by Proximity Media, with Simone Harris and Dezi Gallegos overseeing. The original Animorphs series, written by K.A. Applegate and Michael Grant, was a massive success with over 35 million copies sold worldwide and a previous TV adaptation. The new series promises a gritty update on the wild morphing battles that captivated a generation.
