Hello and welcome to Entangled! The podcast where we explore the science of consciousness, the true nature of reality, and what it means to be a spiritual being having a human experience. I’m your host Jordan Youkilis, and today I’m joined by my friend Joshua Cameron. Joshua and I start the conversation discussing Joshua’s deployments to Kosovo, Kuwait and Iraq, and how his views on American foreign policy developed following his enlistment and his understanding of the political machinations behind the Iraq war. Next, Joshua explains how he discovered his spiritual path after returning from the war, which led to his political activism including working with the Bernie Sanders campaign. We then discuss Joshua’s experience tripping on psychedelics at the Devil’s Tower and how he came to explore his “greatest idea of goodness”. We next discuss the Jungian archetypes of the mature masculine, why Joshua and I resonate with the Magician archetype, and why Joshua has found inspiration in the character of Gandalf. We next consider the difference in boy vs. man psychology and that life is about experience. Joshua then explains the Ching method and its relation to the book of Chinese mysticism, the Tao Te Ching. From there, we discuss balancing political awareness with not being infected by the toxicity spewed by the media.
