Drama at Villa Park, Arsenal in the Semi-Final, Mbappé's Exit [Full Episode]

Few could have imagined that, after a slow start to the UEFA Champions League campaign, Paris Saint-Germain would be one of the four remaining teams left in the tournament. Perhaps even more unbelievable is that Kylian Mbappé's Real Madrid is not one of those teams. On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by Ethan from the PSG Fan Club Boise and Marc Damon to discuss the second leg against Aston Villa, look ahead to the tie against Arsenal, and react to Real Madrid's elimination from the Champions League.Up first, it's the match at Villa Park, which saw PSG take a 2-0 lead to push the aggregate score to 5-1. Villa was able to pull one back before halftime, but a 5-2 lead with 45 minutes felt insurmountable, and PSG supporters were feeling positive. Then the second half started, and two quick goals from the hosts pulled them within one goal in the aggregate score. PSG was able to stop the flow of goals and would go on to lose the match 3-2, but advance on aggregate 5-4. We discuss the main storylines from the match, including Bradley Barcola starting in place of Désiré Doué, Ousmane Dembélé not wanting the Man of the Match award, and Gianluigi Donnarumma's incredible performance late in the match when PSG needed him most.Next, we talk about the matchup against Arsenal, which is a rematch from the league phase when PSG lost 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium. We discuss the unique challenges Arsenal presents for PSG and whether Luis Enrique can figure out a way to beat Mikel Arteta's Gunners.Of course, Arsenal reached the semi-final because of their dominating performance over Real Madrid. We talk about what the defeat does for Mbappé's legacy and whether Real Madrid will have to make major changes this summer. As always, thank you for listening. Villa Reaction, Premier League Snobbery, and Mbappé Seeing Red [Full Episode]

E

Paris Saint-Germain passed another UEFA Champions League test and are quickly emerging as one of the favorites to win the tournament as other favorites stumble in the quarter-finals.On this episode of PSG Talking, Marc Damon joins me to discuss PSG's win over Aston Villa, preview the return leg, react to some Premier League snobbery, and discuss the latest developments surrounding one of PSG's potential Champions League opponents.Up first, it's the 3-1 win over Villa at the Parc des Princes. We discuss what went wrong for PSG that led to Villa's goal and how PSG struck back with two sensational goals from Désiré Doué. We also talk about the importance of Nuno Mendes's goal late in the match and how it could be what helps PSG advance to the semi-finals.Next, we discuss the return leg at Villa Park. Will Luis Enrique make any changes? What should be the strategy for PSG with a two-goal lead over Unai Emery's squad? How will Villa approach the match? We share our thoughts and give our score predictions for the match. With PSG playing so many Premier League clubs this season, the debate over where PSG would finish in the league if they were a member has picked up. In a recent video from That's Football!, the hosts agreed that PSG wouldn't finish in the top four because they couldn't cope with the intensity of the English league. We give our reaction to the video and why PSG would likely compete for the Premier League title this year if given the opportunity. We wrap up the show by discussing Real Madrid's recent struggles. After losing 3-0 to Arsenal FC in the Champions League, the La Liga side followed that up with an uninspiring performance against Alavés, in which Kylian Mbappé was sent off with a red card after a nasty challenge. Is the pressure starting to get the best of the former PSG superstar? Can Real Madrid bounce back and potentially set up a meeting with PSG in the semi-finals? We give our thoughts on the situation. As always, thank you for listening. Be sure to subscribe and rate the show wherever you download your podcasts. The Aston Villa Preview Show [Full Episode]

On paper, Paris Saint-Germain should be the favorites to defeat Aston Villa and advance to the UEFA Champions League semi-final, but as we've seen in the very recent past, talent only gets you so far.On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by Marc Damon to discuss PSG's 13th Ligue 1 title and look ahead to the first leg of the Champions League tie against Aston Villa.First, it's the domestic triumph, which Damon calls the most impressive league title since 2018-19. Considering PSG's current unbeaten run and convincing wins over top French teams, winning Ligue 1 is completely deserved and will go down in the history books as one of the best seasons ever.We then transition to the upcoming match against Aston Villa at the Parc des Princes. We discuss what starting lineup Luis Enrique may go with, including the debate between Désiré Doué and Bradley Barcola. We also look at Aston Villa's squad and discuss whether any player would start for PSG.We also talk about PSG's lack of a match in between the two legs against Aston Villa and the potential matchup against Kylian Mbappé and Real Madrid in the semi-final.The show concludes with us giving our score prediction for the first match against Villa and whether we may see some goal celebrations or tifos directed at Emiliano Martínez. As always, thank you for listening. Paris Stuns Liverpool at Anfield [Full Episode]

E

While they have a long way yet to go in the UEFA Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain sits atop the footballing world at the moment, having knocked out arguably the best team in Europe.Subscribe to PSG Talk Extra Time on Substack for more!On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by Marc Damon to break down PSG's dramatic win over Liverpool FC at Anfield to secure a place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. We begin with our emotional thoughts on the match. Ousmane Dembélé scored in the first half to put PSG up 1-0 in the match and draw level on aggregate at 1-1. The match went back and forth, with both sides displaying incredible skill. There were diving saves, last-ditch tackles, fantastic dribbling, and curling shots that just missed the target. It was a heavyweight battle between PSG and Liverpool that ultimately went to extra time and then penalties to decide the winner.Gianluigi Donnarumma, who had an excellent night, stepped up huge for PSG and saved two Liverpool penalties, and Les Parisiens went on to win the shootout 4-1. We discuss whether the PSG goalkeeper earned a contract extension following that performance. We also talk about Désiré Doué, who came on in the second half and was the player in line to score the winning penalty for PSG. We discuss his sensational ability and what it means to score such a big goal at 19 years old.We break down Liverpool's strategy and how Luis Enrique countered that by being patient and trusting the players that got him to that point. We also look ahead briefly to a potential encounter with Aston Villa and former manager Unai Emery. The show concludes with us answering your questions, including whether Dembélé should be a frontrunner for the Ballon d'Or.As always, thank you for listening. Liverpool Win Late, But PSG Prove They Belong [Full Episode]

In the 1-0 loss to Liverpool FC, Paris Saint-Germain somehow proved they belong to be mentioned among the elite clubs in Europe while also succumbing to the same old script that has plagued them for years in the UEFA Champions League. On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by Drew to break down the disappointing defeat to Liverpool in the first leg of the Round of 16 tie. The show begins with a discussion of Luis Enrique's starting lineup. Did the manager get it right, or should he have considered making a change? The atmosphere at the Parc des Princes was special, and PSG used that energy to put Liverpool under pressure early and often. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored a brilliant curling shot for PSG, but Kvara's calf and foot were just offside. We discuss PSG's tactics and the fast start to the match.Shortly after Kvara's offside goal, Ibrahima Konaté appeared to push Bradley Barcola from behind just before he ran into the Liverpool penalty area. After the VAR check, Konaté did not receive a red card, and play went on. We talk about the decision and whether the officials got it right. In the second half, PSG continued their dominating performance but simply could not beat Alisson Becker. The Liverpool goalkeeper made several spectacular saves and, in total, kept a clean sheet despite facing 10 total shots on target. As if that wasn't enough, in the 86th minute, Arne Slot took off Mohamed Salah and replaced him with Harvey Elliott, and a minute later, he took Liverpool's only shot on target and scored. We discuss whether one PSG player is to blame for the goal or if it was a collective failure. We conclude the show by looking ahead to the return leg next Tuesday. Can PSG complete the comeback against the Premier League leaders? Is it better from a mentality standpoint that PSG is down a goal? We share our scoreline and how we think this tie will end.As always, thank you for listening. Be sure to subscribe and rate the show wherever you download your podcasts. PSG Lasso Lyon [Full Episode]

Everyone wants to be a cowboy until it's time to do cowboy stuff. John Textor and Olympique Lyonnais learned the hard way that it's one thing to attempt to troll Paris Saint-Germain before kickoff, it's quite another to beat them on the pitch, which no one has done in Ligue 1 so far this season. On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by Marc Damon to recap PSG's win over Lyon, talk about the UEFA Champions League draw, and debate whether Ligue 1 could play a match in North America.Up first, it's the 3-2 win over Lyon. PSG jumped out to a lead in the second half, but defensive lapses allowed Lyon to get back into the match late. PSG ultimately were able to hang on for the three points and extend their unbeaten streak, but concerns over Marquinhos and the defense remain. We discuss what we liked and didn't like about PSG's performance.Up next, we look back to the Champions League Round of 16 draw, where PSG learned they would play Liverpool FC over two legs. We discuss where PSG's strengths and weaknesses lie and whether Luis Enrique's squad could take down the Premier League leaders. Finally, with the National Football League expanding the number of countries teams will play in next season, we discuss whether Ligue 1 or another top-five league could follow the same model and move a match to a venue in North America. As always, thank you for listening. We talk about the positives from the match and standout performances. It's difficult to pick out negatives in such a lopsided victory, but there are some holes in PSG's squad that could be exposed in the next round. We discuss potential defensive issues at the club and why they may not be able to fix them until the summer transfer window.PSG will face either Liverpool FC or FC Barcelona in the next round. We give our thoughts on the potential matchup and whether Barcelona is PSG's biggest rival outside of France. We conclude by venting our frustration over the recent technical problems during PSG's Ligue 1 matches. beIN Sports, which holds the rights to broadcast Ligue 1 in the U.S., went to looping commercials in the middle of a PSG match recently, leaving fans scrambling for a way to watch. As always, thank you for listening. The second half of the season is about to begin, and Paris Saint-Germain is facing a daunting month of January. We also discuss the upcoming match against Saint-Etienne at the Parc des Princes.Up first, it's the newest transfer rumor involving Aston Villa's star center-forward, Jhon Durán. PSG's Scoring Woes Continue Against PSV

It's a tale as old as time. Paris Saint-Germain outplays an opponent and creates plenty of scoring chances but falls asleep for a split second and ultimately settles for less than it deserves. On this episode of PSG Talking, I’m joined by Ethan from PSG Fan Club Boise to break down the frustrating 1-1 draw against PSV Eindhoven at the Parc des Princes. We discuss the scoring woes and Luis Enrique's lineup decisions, and we look ahead to Sunday's important clash against Olympique de Marseille. We begin with the result against PSV. PSG recorded 26 total shots and an xG of 2.43 yet only managed a single goal from Achraf Hakimi in the second half to rescue a point. We question the decision to play Kang-In Lee as a false nine and whether a lack of skill or concentration is to blame for the lack of goals. One big moment in the match occurred in the second half when Marco Asensio appeared to be tackled from behind while going for a cross from Hakimi. Initially, the referee, Glenn Nyberg, awarded PSG the penalty. But, after VAR got involved, Nyberg changed his decision, and the match ended 1-1. We debate whether that was the right decision or if, once again, PSG was on the receiving end of a poor decision. With the draw, PSG is on the edge of the UEFA Champions League table and could not qualify for the knockout stage, with fixtures against Atletico Madrid and FC Bayern Munich on the horizon. We share our concerns for PSG at the moment and whether they can turn things around in the tournament. The show concludes with a preview of PSG's match on Sunday against Marseille. LFP Leaves U.S. and International Ligue 1 Fans in the Dark

This is supposed to be a time of excitement for Paris Saint-Germain supporters. The club has announced the signing of João Neves, and after a month of waiting, Désiré Doué appears to be headed to the French capital as well. However, for many fans around the world, including those in the United States, worry is setting in as there is currently no broadcast deal in place to air PSG and Ligue 1 matches this season. On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by long-time contributor Marc Damon and newcomer Mike McNally to discuss just how one of Europe's top leagues has left international fans in the dark with just a few days before the start of the 2024-25 season. We start with a discussion of the current situation regarding the domestic and international broadcast rights for Ligue 1. We talk about who the decision makers are, what organizations are involved, and how French football is drifting behind the Premier League, La Liga, the Bundesliga, and Serie A.The absence of a legitimate broadcaster, especially in the United States, underscores the failure of the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) to promote Ligue 1 in the country. We discuss the impact of not marketing Ligue 1 in the U.S. and how clubs like A.F.C. Bournemouth and Wrexham A.F.C. have traveled to the U.S. to build a fanbase while Ligue 1 clubs have not.We agree that beIN Sports is most likely going to be the last-minute suitor for Ligue 1 rights in the U.S., but the LFP seems to be holding out for something better. Whether better means more money or more viewers remains to be seen, but DAZN, HBO Max, and Apple TV could be potential options if beIN Sports does not get the rights. We conclude the show by discussing Ligue 1 as a content vessel and how it should be easy to sell to distributors worldwide. Ultimately, passionate fans in the U.S. and elsewhere will suffer until the LFP figures out how to get the product on as many televisions, computers, tablets, and mobile devices as possible. The league is falling behind and needs to make drastic moves to first cater to the fans who care about the league the most and then build upon that fanbase to secure the health of the league overall. As always, thank you for listening. Neves Arrives, Simons Departs, and Defense Becomes a Priority

Paris Saint-Germain finally announced a long-awaited signing this week, but with the Ligue 1 season just a week away, there's still business to be done in the final month of the summer transfer window. On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by Ethan from PSG Fan Club Boise to discuss João Neves's arrival, Xavi Simons's departure, a Bundesliga defender rumor, and whether there will be any August surprises.First, we react to PSG finally announcing Neves. The deal dragged out for weeks, and in the end, PSG will pay Benfica a total package of €70 million, plus Renato Sanches. We discuss how he will fit in the squad and how he will improve PSG's midfield.Next, we talk about the potential arrival of Willian Pacho from Eintracht Frankfurt. All summer, PSG has tried to strengthen its defense to no avail. From all reports, Pacho has agreed to terms with PSG and could be announced in the coming days. We discuss his rise through the ranks and whether he'll be an immediate starter. In terms of outgoing players, we finally got an answer to summer's biggest question, "Where will Xavi Simons play next season." After a series of cryptic posts on social media, Simons returned to RB Leipzig for another season on loan with no obligation to buy. We discuss why the Netherlands international refused to return to PSG and whether it's a risk to loan him again for another season. Finally, we look ahead to potential transfers and departures in August, including whether PSG will make a big move for a superstar player. As always, thank you for listening. How will fans abroad watch PSG this season? With a month to go until the Ligue 1 season kicks off, we discuss potential broadcasters, including Apple TV, DAZN, Netflix, and Max. Which platform would give PSG and Ligue 1 the most attention, and what other marketing opportunities could be presented?Next, we discuss the latest report, which shows that the relationship between PSG and Simons is 99% over, following a meeting between the player and Luis Enrique. We debate how the club should handle the player who doesn't want to continue at the club but has become a transfer target for many top clubs following the UEFA European Championship. We wrap up the show by answering questions sent in by listeners, including who should lead PSG's attack, depth on the wings, and whether Senny Mayulu and Cher Ndour will go out on loan this season. As always, thank you for listening, and be sure to subscribe and rate the show wherever you download your podcasts. Summer has officially arrived, and so has a fresh batch of transfer rumors to get Paris Saint-Germain supporters excited for next season. On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by Jonathan Johnson from CBS Sports to discuss the latest PSG transfer rumors, and we also get an update on Ligue 1 broadcast rights.First, we get to the breaking news that Manchester United has reportedly made an initial offer for midfielder Manuel Ugarte. I get Johnson's thoughts on why PSG would be ready to move on from Ugarte after one season and whether he would be a good fit at Manchester United and other clubs who may be interested in the Uruguay international.Next, we discuss whether PSG should move on from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and instead use Luis Enrique's influence to potentially persuade Athletic Bilbao's Nico Williams to come to the Parc des Princes.I also asked Johnson who would be a better fit for PSG: Rayan Cherki from Olympique Lyonnais or Stade Rennais youngster Désiré Doué.We conclude with the latest on Xavi Simons and what might be keeping him from returning to PSG, under-the-radar players at the UEFA European Championship and Copa América who could be a good fit at PSG, and the potential impact on Ligue 1 teams if a broadcast deal is not agreed upon soon.As always, thank you for listening, and be sure to subscribe and rate the show wherever you download your podcasts. Making Sense of the Latest Transfer Targets

The Ligue 1 transfer window is officially open, and Paris Saint-Germain have already signed their backup goalkeeper. What else could be in store for the French champions as they rebuild for next season and look to replace Kylian Mbappé?On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by Robin Bairner, chief editor of Football Transfers and columnist for PSG Talk Extra Time. We discuss the top players linked with a move to PSG, who might be leaving, and a potential breakout star for the France national team.Up first, we discuss the potential arrival of Napoli's Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and whether another club could swoop in ahead of PSG to win his signature. It's been made public that the player wants to leave to play in the UEFA Champions League, but the Serie A club has stated they have no intention of letting the Georgia international leave.Bairner shares his thoughts on why Manchester City would be willing to part ways with Julián Álvarez and whether PSG could face competition from another Premier League club in their efforts to sign the attacker. At 19 years old, João Neves is one of the most talented teenagers in world football. Benfica appear ready to let him leave, but they want a transfer fee north of €100 million. Will the Portugal international leave Benfica and could PSG potentially swap players to lower the transfer fee?Leny Yoro is PSG's preferred center-back signing, but if he leaves Lille OSC for Real Madrid instead, who should PSG target? I ask Bairner about Kevin Danso and other defenders who could be a good fit at the Parc des Princes. The show concludes with Bairner sharing whether he thinks Bradley Barcola or Randal Kolo Muani could step up for France should Mbappé miss time due to a broken nose. Kylian Mbappé is busy preparing for the UEFA European Championship with France, but that didn't keep him from revealing some troubling revelations about Paris Saint-Germain.On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by Jonathan Johnson from CBS Sports to react to Mbappé's comments about his experience at PSG, the latest on Xavi Simons, the latest transfer rumors, and I get his prediction on who will win the Euros this summer.Up first, we dive into the Mbappé situation where earlier this week, he said that at the start of the season, he was told in a violent manner that he would not be playing for PSG. It wasn't until Luis Campos and Luis Enrique intervened that he was able to play. We react to Mbappé's press conference and why there is bad blood between the former PSG superstar and Nasser Al-Khelaifi.I also asked Johnson whether he thinks Mbappé colluded with Real Madrid to leave on a free transfer and whether the Frenchman will be viewed negatively for chasing a trophy that he couldn't win at PSG.We transition away from Mbappé to another player causing drama for PSG. PSG's Bittersweet Coupe de France Victory

Paris Saint-Germain capped off the 2023-24 season with a trophy celebration but also bid farewell to arguably the greatest player to ever wear the jersey. On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by Ethan from PSG Fan Club Boise to break down PSG's 2-1 win over Olympique Lyonnais in the Coupe de France final. We also look ahead to what's needed for PSG to take the next step, reflect on Kylian Mbappé's final match, and discuss our transfer wish list.First, we dive into what we liked in PSG's win over Lyon. Ousmane Dembélé opened the scoring, and Fabian Ruiz doubled the lead in the first half. Surprisingly, both goals came off corners, which is something we haven't seen much this season. Mbappé and Bradley Barcola created plenty of chances, and the full-backs Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes joined the attack and were dangerous all match. Vitinha continued his stellar play, and we wonder if he's better than prime Marco Verratti.Of course, there were negatives as well. From Fox Sports' lack of promotion leading up to the match to the PSG and Lyon Ultras clashing before kickoff to the poor play from PSG's center-backs off of set pieces, we go into detail about what needs to be fixed going into next season.PSG closed out the season with a domestic sweep, having won the Trophée des Champions, Coupe de France, and Ligue 1. They also reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League in Luis Enrique's first season in charge. We discuss the accomplishments and what it will take for PSG to take the next step under Luis Enrique. We then hand out some awards, including the most improved player of the season, the most disappointing signing, and the goal of the season. Examining Mbappé's Complicated Legacy at PSG

It's a good thing there were fireworks after the match to celebrate Paris Saint-Germain's 12th Ligue 1 title because during Kylian Mbappé's final home match against Toulouse FC, there was very little to celebrate. On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by Marc Damon to discuss Mbappé's announcement regarding his future and why his legacy at PSG is so complicated.Up first, we discuss Mbappé's rehearsed farewell video that was posted to his social media channels last Friday. We discuss the timing of the video's release and the fact he didn't mention PSG's president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi.Then, we discuss the positives regarding Mbappé's legacy at PSG, but also some of the negatives, and that contrast is likely what caused some of the supporters at the match on Sunday to whistle when his name was announced. There's no question Mbappé has the best statistics at PSG and may be the best player in club history. However, he failed to deliver a UEFA Champions League title, and having his heart set on joining Real Madrid one day may have played a role in that.We highlight Mbappé's potential role in his transfer rumors over the years and how he may have traded being loved unconditionally at PSG for the level of control he desired to get to where he always wanted to go.The show concludes with us talking about PSG's future and why the goal has to be to build the best sporting project possible around Bradley Barcola, Warren Zaïre-Emery, Vitinha, and PSG's other rising stars. If the club can do that, they may just win a Champions League title before Mbappé.As always, thank you for listening, and be sure to subscribe and rate the show wherever you download your podcasts. Dortmund Ends PSG's Dream Run in the Champions League

It's been a difficult week for Paris Saint-Germain supporters. The club came up short of the UEFA Champions League final, and a superstar for the future may not want to rejoin the club.On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by Zacha from the PSG Talk Discord server to discuss the 1-0 loss to Dortmund. We also look ahead to PSG's future and discuss the latest Xavi Simons news.Note: This episode was recorded before Kylian Mbappé announced that he would be leaving PSG at the end of the season.Up first is the result against Dortmund. It was a frustrating night at the Parc des Princes. There was so much hope and belief that the club could overturn the one-goal loss in the first leg, but it wasn't meant to be. PSG recorded 30 shots, four of which hit the goal post, and failed to capitalize on numerous chances. We discuss whether there was anything Luis Enrique could have done and whether Kylian Mbappé's off-the-pitch drama impacted him in the tie.We then look forward to how PSG can improve ahead of next season. Mbappé's departure means PSG will have to find attacking options to replace his offensive output of 40 goals per season. There's also a need for a starting midfielder and PSG's defense needs significant strengthening with the knee injury to Lucas Hernández that will keep him out for six or more months. The show concludes with a discussion about Xavi Simons, who is reportedly not interested in returning to PSG once his loan at RB Leipzig expires. The 21-year-old is under contract with PSG until 2027, and if he's transferred to another club before 2025, PSV Eindhoven will receive a significant portion. It's a difficult situation for PSG to navigate and we discuss the likely outcomes. As always, thank you for listening, and be sure to subscribe and rate the show wherever you download your podcasts. Down, But Not Out Against Dortmund

After a poor showing away at Borussia Dortmund in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain must once again dig deep and come from behind to advance to the final. On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by Ethan from PSG Fan Club Boise to discuss PSG's 1-0 loss to Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park. We break down the game's only goal, Luis Enrique's lineup, Kylian Mbappé's performance, and much more.We begin with the rhetorical question of whether or not PSG realizes they're in the semi-finals of the Champions League and what an incredible opportunity they have ahead of them. The performance against Dortmund left much to be desired, and very few PSG players stood out on the night. We discuss Dortmund's defensive tactics and what may have gone wrong for PSG's goalscorers.Mbappé is the unquestioned leader for PSG, but against Dortmund, he was only held to three total shots. The Frenchman didn't step up like so many expected him to, and we debate whether Luis Enrique should move him out to the left wing and move Gonçalo Ramos into the striker role. We also discuss other potential changes the manager could make, including replacing Fabian Ruiz with Manuel Ugarte or Kang-In Lee.Dortmund's goal in the 36th minute by Niclas Füllkrug was a thing of beauty. Nico Schlotterbeck played a long pass over the PSG defense from the Dortmund side of the pitch, and Füllkrug was able to stay onside, control the pass, and finish with power and precision. We discuss the goal in detail, including Ruiz's poor effort in tracking back.Lucas Hernández was the lone defender who was almost able to block the shot on goal from Füllkrug, but as he did, he tore his ACL and is now out for six-to-seven months. We discuss that heartbreaking news and how Luis Enrique will replace him in the starting lineup. We then transition to the return leg at the Parc des Princes on May 7. Despite the loss in the first leg, many supporters remain positive. We try to predict what changes Luis Enrique will make both in the starting lineup and tactically. We also talk about the importance of PSG getting an early goal, whether Mbappé could position himself for his first Ballon d'Or by reaching the Champions League final, and we give our final prediction for the return leg.As always, thank you for listening, and be sure to subscribe and rate the show wherever you download your podcasts. Le Havre Spoil Party at the Parc; Dortmund Preview

Paris Saint-Germain entered Saturday's match against Le Havre ready to celebrate a Ligue 1 title with a win, but the visitors had other ideas and spoiled the party at the Parc des Princes. On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by Ethan from PSG Fan Club Boise to discuss PSG's come-from-behind draw against Le Havre, Warren Zaïre-Emery's big news, and we look ahead to next week's UEFA Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund. We begin with the news that before kickoff against Le Havre, Zaïre-Emery was presented with a kit with "2029" on the back, signaling a five-year contract extension for the 18-year-old. We discuss the Frenchman's importance in the soon-to-be post-Kylian Mbappé-era and whether he will captain PSG next season.Next, we dive into the 3-3 draw against Le Havre. A win would have seen PSG clinch its 12 Ligue 1 title in club history, but sloppy defensive play from PSG allowed a determined Le Havre side to score three goals and force Luis Enrique's squad to score two late goals to squeak out a draw. We discuss what we liked in the match, including Gonçalo Ramos' header and assist, and the fact there were no injuries. We also break down what we didn't like in the match, like the forgettable performance from Randal Kolo Muani and the poor defensive effort. The second half of the show is all about the first leg of PSG's semi-final tie against Dortmund in the Champions League. We discuss Dortmund's recent result, a potential injury to a key player, and what lineup changes Luis Enrique may make for that match. While Ethan believes PSG should be a little on the cautious side and play Manuel Ugarte for extra defensive help in the midfield, I believe PSG should flex their offensive muscle and attack Dortmund on the road and try to put the tie out of reach as quickly as possible. As always, thank you for listening, and be sure to subscribe and rate the show wherever you download your podcasts. Paris Saint-Germain Flips the Script Against Barcelona

After years of coming up short in the UEFA Champions League and suffering some of the most painful defeats the game has ever seen, Paris Saint-Germain finally delivered on the big stage to reach the semi-finals.On this episode of PSG Talking, I recap PSG's come-from-behind win over FC Barcelona. From Luis Enrique's starting lineup, to a controversial referee decision, to Kylian Mbappé's performance, I cover all the major incidents over the 90 minutes.I begin with PSG's starting lineup, which featured an all-French front three of Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé, and Bradley Barcola. After the first match where fitness issues and suspensions for Luis Enrique to adjust his lineup, the manager bounced back and played the ideal starting XI.Next, I address Ronald Araújo's red card after taking down Barcola as he sprinted toward Marc-Andre ter Stegen. Did the referee make the right decision, or does Xavi and Barcelona supporters have a fair argument? After the sending-off, Dembélé took advantage and converted a Barcola cross for his second goal of the tie. I talk about his performance and how important his goal before halftime was for Les Parisiens. In the second half, PSG continued the offensive onslaught, and Vitinha eventually got on the scoresheet with a blast from distance. I discuss his performance and why you could make the argument that behind Mbappé, he's been PSG's most important player this season. With the tie level on aggregate, it was time for Mbappé to take over and get PSG across the finish line. I talk about his two goals to put PSG comfortably in the lead. Could the Frenchman be thinking twice about leaving for Real Madrid? After the final whistle, PSG celebrated in front of the traveling supporters. I discuss how proud I am of the team's performance and look ahead to the semi-final tie against Borussia Dortmund. As always, thank you for listening, and be sure to subscribe and rate the show wherever you download your podcasts. PSG Look For Revenge in Battle Against Barcelona

Paris Saint-Germain faces an uphill battle in their tie against FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League, but there is hope for Les Parisiens to pull off a la Remontada of their own in the rematch. On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined once again by Dan Hilton of The Barcelona Podcast to recap the 3-2 defeat to Barcelona and look ahead to next week's second leg. PSG supporter, Drew, also joins the show to give his thoughts on the tie and both give us a prediction of who they think will advance to the semi-final.First, Dan shares his thoughts on how well Barcelona played and how tactically they kept Kylian Mbappé from doing any damage over 90 minutes. We also discuss how Barcelona managed to limit their mistakes and take advantage of PSG's questionable starting lineup. We also preview the return leg, and Dan shares his level of concern going against what should be an improved PSG with Achraf Hakimi returning to the starting lineup.Next, Drew comes on the show to also recap the defeat at the Parc des Princes. We discuss how Gianluigi Donnarumma's abysmal performance, Ousmane Dembélé's goal celebration, and the positives that came out of the defeat. We also look at the season as a whole and whether it's been a success for PSG should they bow out of the Champions League next week.As always, thank you for listening, and be sure to subscribe and rate the show wherever you download your podcasts.
