1. Speaks  to the issue of organizational distrust
2. Speaks to the issue of church "free agency"
3. Reflects  a rejection traditional models of church
4. Demonstrate a disdain for labels...for example "I attend a Baptist church but I'm not Baptist."
5. Shows people want to own their faith and have concern about someone dictating faith to them.
6. Draws people with smaller bureaucracy.

  If you are a denominational church what can you do.

1. Recognize your people are largely more indifferent towards your denomination than you are.
2. Make sure your local identity is clear.
3. Inform but don't over-inform people about your denomination

  If you are non-denominational

1. Make sure your theology is clear
2. Look for ways to collaborate with like-minded churches
3. Consider future leadership needs
