Show Notes

Dr. Joye originally graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas. Her lush biography includes adventures in New York City with Andy Warhol and the Factory Scene, being the subject of a Maplethrope portrait, and hanging out with Alan Watts. Her adventures in supersensible perception led her to expand her engineering background and towards work with John Lilly exploring interspecies communication and contemplative practice with Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche. In order to be able to read and translate Sanskrit, she earned an M.A. in Indian Philosophy, and completed her doctorate in Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness at the California Institute of Integral Studies. She is the author of many books and papers including Tuning the Mind and Developing Supersensible Perception, the latter of which is the subject of this podcast. She is also a wonderful artist and many of her paintings can be seen on her website below. More information of Dr. Joye and her work can be found at:
