By day, Matt is an Astrophysicist and Educator. However, Matt's long standing interest in how spirituality, shamanism and other indigenous practices shape the relationship of societies to nature, time and the cosmos translate into fascinating research about how cosmographies, heterotopias, and usage of entheogenic substances allow access into realms inaccessible to the scientific method. Matt's focus on the civilization and cultures of the Indus valley led to theories about how the social impact of climate change and societal stress, in the context of shamanic culture, may have shaped many spiritual practices from meditation to asceticism.
