I need to hand in this assignment on Friday. So I will have to put the pedal to the metal.

A: Good morning, sir. Where would you like to go?

B: I need to be at the airport in 30 minutes.

A: The domestic or international terminal?

A: I'll do my best, but the traffic is heavy at this time of the day. It's likely to take about 40 minutes.

B: You'd better step on it, then. We don't have a second to waste.

A: Sir, instead of taking the freeway, I can take a shortcut. I'll be able to put the pedal to the metal and get there much quicker.
