Raukkan is a Ngarrindjeri community on the banks of Lake Alexandrina, whose historical church takes pride of place on the Australian fifty-dollar note. Established in 1859 as Point McLeay mission, and finally being handed back to the Ngarrindjeri people in 1974, and renamed Raukkan in 1982.
