VAYIKRA
The Korbanot, offerings of animals and vegetables brought to the Sanctuary. These include The "lifting offering" (olá) is incinerated for Elohim in the fire of the Altar; Five varieties of "vegetable offerings" (minjá) prepared with flour, olive oil, and frankincense; The "peace offering" (shlamim), the flesh was eaten by the one who brought the offering, while certain parts were burned on the altar and others given to the Kohanim (Ministers); The different types of "sin offerings" (chatat) brought to atone for transgressions wrongly committed by the High Priest, the entire community, the king, or an ordinary Jew; The "guilt offering" (asham) brought by a person who profited from the property of the Sanctuary, or by one who doubts as to whether he transgressed a prohibition, or by one who "betrayed Elohim by swearing falsely to defraud.
