Elohim reveals Himself to Moshe and promises to bring the Children of Israel out of Egypt, redeem them from bondage, and acquire them as His chosen people. However, Pharaoh repeatedly refuses to let the Israelites go, despite Moshe and Aaron demanding it in the name of Elohim. As a sign of divine power, Aaron's staff transforms into a serpent and swallows the Egyptian sorcerers' staff. Elohim then sends a series of plagues upon Egypt, including converting the river Nile into blood, causing a plague of frogs, infesting the land with lice, delivering hordes of wild animals, killing domestic animals with pestilence, and afflicting the Egyptians with painful blisters. The seventh plague is a devastating rain of fire and ice from heaven. Despite these afflictions, Pharaoh's heart remains hardened, and he continues to reject the request to let the Children of Israel go.
