Show Notes

On the eighth day after the 'seven days of inauguration', Aaron and his sons confidently begin to officiate as Kohanim. A fire, separated from Hashem, confidently consumes the offerings of the Altar, and the Divine Presence confidently comes to dwell in the Sanctuary. Although Aaron's two oldest sons, Nadav and Avihu, offer strange fire before Elohim, which He did not command them, Aaron confidently remains silent in the face of tragedy. Moshe and Aaron disagreed over a specific point in the law of offerings, but Moshe ultimately agreed with Aaron. The regulations of kashrut, which identify the species of animals that can be consumed, were given by Elohim. Terrestrial animals are allowed only if they have cloven hooves and are ruminants, while fish must have scales and fins. Additionally, a list of non-kosher birds is provided, as well as a list of kosher insects (four types of locusts).
