Show Notes
Allan Joseph Legere, known as the Monster of the Miramichi, died this week at age seventy-eight while serving a life sentence. In 1986, he was convicted for a brutal murder in New Brunswick and sentenced to life with no parole for eighteen years. In 1989, he escaped from a maximum-security prison, embarking on a seven-month rampage that resulted in four more murders. After a massive manhunt, he was recaptured and convicted. Parole bids were denied, and he spent his final years in prison, marking the end of a dark chapter for New Brunswick.
