A young couple in Edinburgh, Daniel Seavers and Charlie Bryans, have been battling damp, mould, and health issues in their rental flat for three and a half years. Despite repeated calls for repairs, SouthSide Property Management has allegedly ignored their pleas. The couples health has suffered, and theyve had to discard numerous items. SouthSide disputes the claims, blaming moisture from inside the flat. The couple now faces eviction, but its due to the owners personal changes. Living Rent advocates for stronger rules to protect tenants, as Awaab’s Law is set to take effect in Scotland in October 2026.
