Show Notes
Has this happened to you: Do you find it difficult to explain your job to your family, friends, and even your professional contacts?
According to Melissa Meschke, Economic Development Outreach Manager for the Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship at the University of Wisconsin, the interesting thing about Economic Development is hard to difficult it is to describe economic developers do.
Her response: Use plain language!
She recently earned a Plain Language Certificate through UW-Madison. The experience was eye-opening for her and has helped her to hone in her networking and written communication.
In this episode we discuss this, networking, and Melissa's favorite book: How to be a Power Connector by Judy Robinett
