Most people prefer to be shown rather than told. Those who quickly forget words and direct statements can easily recall scenes from a movie, illustrations from a book or a picture they took on their phone. Pictures are sticky. When we are shown, we usually remember.
This week we begin a new series, and the biblical author known as Mark is going to answer one of the most important questions we can ask in our lifetimes. To do so he is going to bring us on a journey, roping us into his narrative and giving us awe-inspiring stories that illustrate an answer we’ll never forget. Here he does more than tell us – he wants to show us. This week, the answer to our question is found in The Storm.
