Chances are, you've never heard a Haunted Mansion story like this one - we hadn't! In the 12 years that the greatest ride in Disneyland spent gestating, there were many changes made. Not only to the storyline, but the effects, the ride - pretty much everything was different by the time the doors opened in 1969 from Ken Anderson's initial meeting with Walt back in 1957. Why is this? Well, we dive into an alternate conveyance that we hadn't heard about, and how different that would have made The Haunted Mansion, but also how the Omnimover system (you know, the Ghost Mobiles) forced many of the effects to be reworked. We even hear from our friend Mr. Rolly Crump (via email)!
