It turns out herbicide resistance is a far bigger problem in New Zealand than anyone thought.
Scientists have just completed the first nationwide survey on resistance.
Instead of finding the expected 5 percent of arable farms and vineyards being resistant to common herbicides, they found 50 percent are.
