Lieutenant Colonel Brandon Shah, a U.S. Army veteran and Old Dominion University professor, was tragically killed in a shooting at the university. The gunman, Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, a former Army National Guard member with terrorism ties, was stopped by ROTC cadets. Shah, a Virginia native and Old Dominion graduate, had returned to teach and is survived by his wife and son. The FBI commends the cadets actions, and funeral plans are not yet public.
