Show Notes
Today on the show...
- Stand Tū Māia is the charity that effectively emerged out of the old children’s health camps in NZ - they were set up in 1919 for undernourished children. They do vital work taking in 4000 of the country’s most vulnerable and at risk kids and work intensively with them.
- They've been doing it for decades and their results are without question. Yet just 6 months into a 64 million dollar, three year contract with Oranga Tamariki, they got the news they were being reviewed then suddenly due to 'financial constraints' the service would be cut at the end of this month. Chopped by a Government that promised frontline services would be safe.
- We will hear from Stand Tū Māia's CEO, Dr. Fiona Inkpen.
