Oregon just landed another big commitment on the recruiting trail in 2023 edge rusher Jaeden Moore. Ep 152QUAAACK: Kenyon Sadiq Commits to Oregon, Ducks Favorites for Bronny James?
Oregon stayed hot on the recruiting trail this week when they landed a commitment from 2023 athlete Kenyon Sadiq out of Skyline Senior High School in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Sadiq looks like he'll play tight end for the Ducks, and it was important for the Ducks to land a player at that position after missing out on Riley Williams earlier this cycle when he transferred to IMG Academy.Host Max Torres also discusses Oregon's recent struggles recruiting the offensive line and what other options are still on the table. There are still a number of players the Ducks are looking at and they could still utilize the transfer portal. What about flipping other commits? And how about some basketball? On Tuesday Oregon reportedly emerged as the favorites to land 2023 Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon shooting guard Bronny James, son of NBA legend LeBron James. Dana Altman and the Ducks landed two five-stars in August but it looks like they may not be done.Remember to like, subscribe, rate, review and share the Ducks Dish Podcast wherever you find it!Connect with our Oregon Ducks coverage on other platformsWatch this episode on YouTube Subscribe to Max Torres' YouTube channelFollow Max Torres on TwitterFollow the Ducks Dish Podcast on TwitterFind more Oregon Ducks content on Fan Nation's Ducks DigestJoin the discussion on Ducks Digest ForumsLike and follow Ducks Digest on Facebook Learn more about your ad choices. Ep 151Oregon Lands Two Big Commitments, Football + Recruiting Mailbag
On the latest episode of the Ducks Dish Podcast we break down a couple of big commitments for the Ducks on the recruiting trail. 2023 linebacker Jerry Mixon out of San Francisco committed to Dan Lanning, while 2023 five-star forward Mookie Cook re-committed to Dana Altman and the Ducks.Mixon's commitment comes at a position of need in this class. He projects as a versatile linebacker than can stop the run and drop back in coverage, something the Ducks definitely need. His commitment is Oregon's third of the month after landing DL Terrance Green and DL My'Keil Gardner.Cook's commitment isn't a big surprise, but it's interesting to see the dynamic at play here since the Ducks just added Kwame Evans Jr. 10 days prior. It confirms a very common saying, good players want to play with good players. Dana Altman continues to push ahead on the recruiting trail with the top class in the Pac-12, ranked No. 6 overall, and he may not be done this cycle.Make sure to like, subscribe, rate, review and share the Ducks Dish Podcast wherever you find it!Connect with our Oregon Ducks coverage on other platformsWatch this episode on YouTubeSubscribe to Max Torres' YouTube channelFollow Max Torres on TwitterFollow the Ducks Dish Podcast on TwitterFind more Oregon Ducks content on Fan Nation's Ducks DigestLike and follow Ducks Digest on FacebookJoin the discussion on Ducks Digest Forums Learn more about your ad choices. Ep 149Fall Camp Preview: Defense
Fall camp is now just TWO days away!On this episode, host Max Torres previews what's in store for the Oregon defense in 2022. The Ducks have a bunch of talent at every level of their defense, but there's varying levels of production and experience.Starting up front, expectations are high for the defensive line with returning veterans like Brandon Dorlus, Popo Aumavae and Keyon Ware-Hudson. They're joined by newcomer and Washington transfer Sam 'Taki' Taimani. Moving back to the linebackers, Noah Sewell and Justin Flowe headline what is one of the most talented linebacker corps in the entire country.Behind them you have some very promising young talent in Jeffrey Bassa, Jackson LaDuke and Keith Brown. Oregon also added speedsters Harrison Taggart and Devon Jackson, who could see the field sooner than later with their crazy speed.DJ Johnson and Bradyn Swinson look like they could be the answer for pass rusher as the defense looks to fill the void created by Kayvon Thibodeaux's departure. In the secondary Bennett Williams boasts the most experience at safety, while the Ducks hope of breakouts by Trikweze Bridges, Jamal Hill and Steve Stephens IV among others. Cornerback is the youngest position group and looks like it will be led by Colorado transfer Christian Gonzalez while they hope for some younger and newer faces to step up like Dontae Manning and Jahlil Florence.Make sure to like, subscribe, rate, review and share the Ducks Dish Podcast wherever you find it!Connect with our Oregon Ducks coverage on other platformsWatch this episode on YouTubeSubscribe to Max Torres' YouTube channelFollow Max Torres on TwitterFollow the Ducks Dish Podcast on TwitterFind more Oregon Ducks content on Fan Nation's Ducks DigestLike and follow Ducks Digest on FacebookSubscribe to the FREE Ducks Digest Newsletter Learn more about your ad choices. Oregon's offense is generating a ton of buzz ahead of the 2022 season. We'll get to see a new quarterback running the offense while the Ducks continue to hold an ongoing quarterback battle between Bo Nix, Ty Thompson and Jay Butterfield. The run game figures to be strong once again with Byron Cardwell being the lead returner from a year ago after shining as a true freshman. Carlos Locklyn has injected a ton of new talent into that group with Jordan James, Noah Whittington and Mar'Keise Irving all joining the team this offseason. The wide receiver corps is full of talent waiting to break out after being underutilized in 2021, or coming in from the transfer portal/high school ranks. The Ducks have a very promising tight end room and veteran offensive line unit for this year.Remember to like, subscribe, rate, review and share the Ducks Dish Podcast wherever you find it!Connect with our Oregon Ducks coverage on other platformsWatch this episode on YouTubeSuscribe to Max Torres' YouTube channelFollow Max Torres on TwitterFollow the Ducks Dish Podcast on TwitterFind more Oregon Ducks content on Fan Nation's Ducks DigestSubscribe to the FREE Ducks Digest NewsletterLike and follow Ducks Digest on Facebook Learn more about your ad choices. Ep 146Predicting Oregon's Breakout Players on Defense in 2022
The Oregon defense, much like the offense, has a ton of talent to work with in 2022. Due in large part to injury, we got to see some younger players step into larger roles when called upon last season. They had varying degrees of success and with some departures from a season ago they will be relied on more heavily this season.Max Torres is joined by Spencer McLaughlin to predict which players could be in line for breakout seasons under Dan Lanning and Tosh Lupoi's defense.Make sure to like, subscribe, review and share the Ducks Dish Podcast wherever you find it!Connect with our Oregon Ducks coverage on other platformsWatch this episode on YouTubeSubscribe to Max Torres' YouTube channelFollow Max Torres on TwitterFollow the Ducks Dish Podcast on TwitterFind more Oregon Ducks content on Fan Nation's Ducks DigestLike and follow Ducks Digest on FacebookSubscribe to the FREE Ducks Digest Newsletter Learn more about your ad choices. Ep 145Predicting Oregon's Breakout Players on Offense in 2022
Oregon's offense is loaded with playmakers ahead of the 2022 season. Last year the Ducks had a fairly efficient offense, but the playcalling became dry and predictable and had to battle Anthony Brown's limitations as a passer. Now entering 2022, it feels like this coaching transition could be a breathe of fresh air and a bit of a reset for the Ducks on offense under Kenny Dillingham. There are so many players that were underutilized a season ago and there's been a lot of talent added to the offense from the transfer portal and high school rankings.Be sure to like, subscribe, rate, review and share the Ducks Dish Podcast wherever you find it!Connect with our Oregon Ducks coverage on other platformsWatch this episode on YouTubeSubscribe to Max Torres' YouTube channelFollow Max Torres on TwitterFollow the Ducks Dish Podcast on TwitterFind more Oregon Ducks content on Fan Nation's Ducks DigestLike and follow Ducks Digest on FacebookSubscribe to the FREE Ducks Digest Newsletter Learn more about your ad choices. Ep 143Ranking Oregon Football's 2022 Schedule
Oregon's 2022 season is full of really intriguing matchups and that starts right at the beginning of the season. The Ducks will head east to Atlanta where they'll face the defending national champion Georgia Bulldogs in a game overflowing with storylines. But don't count out some of the other non-conference games, specifically BYU, as the Ducks welcome the Cougars to Autzen after Kalani Sitake and his team went undefeated against the Pac-12 in 2021. Fortunately for Dan Lanning and Oregon, most of the toughest games will be played right at home in Eugene in front of the Autzen faithful. The Ducks are coming off of a 10-4 season, one that was highlighted by big wins against Ohio State in Columbus, UCLA on College Gameday in Pasadena, and a rivalry win over the Washington Huskies on a cold, windy and rainy night in Seattle. Oregon has reached a very crucial point in their ascension as a college football power. Pac-12 titles and Rose Bowls aren't enough anymore. The next step for this program is reaching the college football playoff, and no one is going to cut them any slack with a brand new head coach, especially one who's working with a loaded roster. In this episode, host Max Torres ranks all 12 of the games on Oregon's 2022 schedule from easiest to most difficult. Ep 140Oregon Football and Recruiting Mailbag: Jul 10, 2022
It's a crazy time in college football amid realignment limbo, but the Ducks have stayed hot on the recruiting trail after landing five-star quarterback Dante Moore out of Detroit on Friday. His commitment will likely have a domino effect for Oregon with many of their top prospects set to announce as soon as this month or this summer.Dan Lanning and the new coaching staff have proven again that there isn't going to be any dropoff in recruiting moving forward. They've recruited a high-level player at just about every position now, with the exception of defensive line and linebacker, which could be the next pledge they pick up for this class. The Ducks are now less than a month out from the start of fall camp and a majority of their 2022 signing class is on campus and enrolled as preparations are poised to ramp up for Georgia very soon. Pac-12 media day is also coming up very soon as Lanning and other coaches and two players from each school get ready to head to Los Angeles at the end of the month. There's plenty to talk about as Max Torres sits down with Rian Winter (aka SportsChat503) to answer viewer/listener questions in our latest installment of the mailbag.Make sure to like, subscribe and share the Ducks Dish Podcast with your family, friends and other Duck fans wherever you find us!Connect with our Oregon Ducks coverage on other platformsWatch this episode on YouTubeFollow Max on TwitterFollow the Ducks Dish Podcast on TwitterSubscribe to Max Torres' YouTube channelFind more Oregon Ducks content on Fan Nation's Ducks DigestLike and Follow Ducks Digest on FacebookSubscribe to the FREE Ducks Digest Newsletter Learn more about your ad choices. Ep 139QUAAACK: Five-Star QB Dante Moore Commits to Oregon
Oregon might have just made its biggest statement on the recruiting trail since the arrival of head coach Dan Lanning. Five-star Detroit (MI) quarterback Dante Moore announced his commitment to the Ducks on Friday, giving the Ducks the top remaining quarterback in the country for 2023.Moore instantly becomes the headliner in Oregon's class which is now rapidly closing in on USC in the Pac-12 rankings. The Ducks landed Moore over fellow finalists like LSU, Texas A&M, Michigan and Notre Dame. He's the highest-rated quarterback in program history, passing Ty Thompson from the 2021 signing class. This was a super impressive job by Dan Lanning, Kenny Dillingham and the entire coaching staff, especially after missing out on other big-time quarterbacks like Nico Iamaleava and Jaden Rashada earlier on in the cycle. Moore's commitment is truly historic and will likely yield more impressive commitments for Oregon as we navigate the summer and the prime commitment season that is July.Max Torres and Graham Metzker break down what Oregon is getting in their new quarterback of the future and what this means for the Ducks.Like, subscribe and share the Ducks Dish Podcast wherever you find us!Connect with our Oregon Ducks coverage on other platformsWatch this episode on YouTubeSubscribe to Max's YouTube channelFollow Max on TwitterFollow the Ducks Dish Podcast on TwitterFind more Oregon Ducks content on Fan Nation's Ducks DigestLike and follow Ducks Digest on Facebook Learn more about your ad choices. Ep 138Oregon RB Coach Carlos Locklyn Joins the Show
Carlos Locklyn is one of many new hires to Oregon head coach Dan Lanning's new coaching staff in Eugene. He comes over from Western Kentucky where he helped coach one of the best offenses in college football in 2021. Locklyn has quickly become a fan favorite from the new staff with his passionate and genuine responses to questions about his love for the game and what he's trying to help Lanning and Co. build ahead of the 2022 season.Oregon's running back room has seen some of the most change of any position group since the conclusion of last season after losing CJ Verdell and Travis Dye. To help make up for those departures Locklyn wasted no time bringing in a slew of talented ballcarriers from across the country in Noah Whittington (Western Kentucky), Mar'Keise 'Bucky' Irving (Minnesota), 2022 signee Jordan James (Murfreesboro, TN), and preferred walk-ons Preston Alford (Dripping Springs, TX) and Ellis Bynum (Portland, OR)Ducks Dish host Max Torres sits down with Locklyn for the latest big-time episode of the Ducks Dish Podcast. Ep 136Oregon Playing the Waiting Game With Notre Dame Ahead of Big Ten Decision
Notre Dame looks like it will be the next major domino in the ongoing saga that is another wave of conference realignment in college football. But one of the biggest questions is whether or not it will be a domino that will fall. More specifically, do the Fighting Irish want to join a conference? Do they even need to join a conference? In today's college football, Notre Dame still stands on one of the most solid foundations as a storied brand, one of the most recognizable in the sport. Ducks Dish Host Max Torres is joined by Irish Breakdown Publisher Bryan Driskell to discuss the situation Notre Dame is in after being invited to join the Big Ten conference, and what the future of the program looks like.Notre Dame's decision to join or not join the Big Ten will likely be tied into the future for Oregon in some way, so this was an awesome episode to better understand the situation in South Bend.Don't forget to like, subscribe and share the Ducks Dish Podcast wherever you find it!Connect with our Oregon Ducks coverage on other platformsWatch this episode on YouTubeSubscribe to Max Torres' YouTube channelFollow Max on TwitterFollow the Ducks Dish Podcast on TwitterCheck out the Irish Breakdown YouTube channelFind more Oregon Ducks content on Fan Nation's Ducks DigestSubscribe to the FREE Ducks Digest NewsletterLike and follow Ducks Digest on FacebookJoin the discussion on Ducks Digest Forums Learn more about your ad choices. Ep 134Teitum Tuioti Commits to Oregon + Conference Realignment Talk
Teitum Tuioti is the latest commit for Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks in the 2023 recruiting class. July is a crucial time on the recruiting calendar as it represents a dead period for visits, but it is prime commitment season for Oregon and other schools across the country as they try to fill out the majority of their 2023 class in the spring and summer months. The Oregon staff was a bit behind starting the 2023 recruiting class due to the timing of the coaching transition but they've put in a ton of really good work on the trail and are set to reap the rewards. But the show doesn't stop there as Max Torres tackles bigger picture questions around Oregon football recruiting like 5-star quarterback Dante Moore, how conference realignment impacts Oregon on the recruiting trail and the bigger picture with conference realignment.Don't miss out on this episode and make sure to like and subscribe to the Ducks Dish Podcast wherever you find it and SHARE the podcast with friends, family and other Duck fans!Connect with our Oregon Ducks coverage on other platformsWatch this episode on YouTubeSubscribe to Max's YouTube channelFollow Max on TwitterFollow the Ducks Dish Podcast on TwitterFind more Oregon Ducks content on Fan Nation's Ducks DigestSubscribe to the FREE Ducks Digest NewsletterLike and follow Ducks Digest on Facebook Learn more about your ad choices. Ep 133Oregon and the Pac-12 are in Conference Limbo
Duck fans and Pac-12 fans alike didn't get any answers today as they await their college football future. There were some reports that the Big Ten has zeroed in on adding Notre Dame, a major money maker in the sport, but a school that has functioned as an independent. If Notre Dame does in fact join the Big Ten, you'd figure the conference would want to bring in another big school to pair with that, which is where Oregon could find themselves coming into play. Or, if Notre Dame doesn't join, Oregon could still very well be in play if they come over with Washington. There's more questions than answers right now and we'll continue to discuss conference realignment here on the Ducks Dish Podcast. Please like, subscribe and share the Ducks Dish Podcast wherever you find it and with other friends, family and Duck fans!Connect with our other Oregon Ducks coverage on other platformsWatch this episode on YouTubeSubscribe to Max's YouTube channelFollow Max on TwitterFollow the Ducks Dish Podcast on TwitterFind more Oregon Ducks content on Fan Nation's Ducks DigestSubscribe to the FREE Ducks Digest NewsletterJoin the discussion on Ducks Digest ForumsLike and follow Ducks Digest on Facebook Learn more about your ad choices. Ep 132What Does USC and UCLA's move to the Big Ten Mean for Oregon?
On Thursday Jon Wilner of Mercury News reported that USC and UCLA are planning on joining the Big Ten as soon as 2024. This news sent massive shockwaves throughout the college football landscape as well as college athletics overall. Now Oregon fans find themselves asking, what does this mean for the Ducks? Do they try to join the Big Ten? Does the Big Ten even want them? Should they try to join a different conference? What about going independent? Max Torres and Graham Metzker take an early look at where this move leaves Oregon and the options that are on the table right now.The Ducks look like a very attractive school for any conference given their obvious connection with Nike and their strong football history, albeit much of it is a lot more recent than many of the sport's blue bloods. Dan Lanning's first year as a head coach also feels like it's taken on a much more significance, as Oregon's path to the playoff would likely become harder if the Ducks were to join the Big Ten.Please like and share the Ducks Dish podcast with your friends, family and other Duck fans!Connect with our Oregon Ducks coverage on other platformsWatch this episode on YouTubeSubscribe to Max's YouTube ChannelFollow Max on TwitterFollow the Ducks Dish Podcast on TwitterFind more Oregon Ducks content on Fan Nation's Ducks DigestSubscribe to the FREE Ducks Digest newsletterJoin the discussion on Ducks Digest Forums Learn more about your ad choices.
