In Lampedusa wonen amper 6.000 mensen en in het opvangcentrum is er plaats voor 400 migranten. Maar eerder deze maand kwamen er in één dag bijna 7.000 bootvluchtelingen aan en moest het Italiaanse eiland de noodtoestand uitroepen.
