How we propose this audio experience to be utilized: The world of guided meditation and other forms of mindfulness often draws inspiration from Eastern philosophy. However, at Drone Machine, we prefer to focus on the Western, more accessible aspect of mindfulness. Our core visual and audio representation is designed to help us focus on our conscious mind and carry that focus into our unconscious mind. We do not use classic meditation-based instruments such as singing bowls, gongs, flutes, or other commonly associated instruments. As you explore the audio section of the drone machine, you’ll notice a highly synthesized and low hum emanating from the selected instrument. Over the years, electrical instruments have been a major contributor to our collaborations. Another aspect that we’ve been incorporating into our drone machine sessions is the use of urban sounds. These sounds, collected through field recordings, emphasize the idea that you are connected to your environment. Your environment doesn’t have to be a peaceful waterfall stream or a serene beach. It can be the corner of the busiest cross-section in America or any other place in the world. It can even be a noisy office building with hundreds of people having conversations simultaneously. The key is to understand that mindfulness doesn’t depend on your location. It’s about finding your place within the mindfulness setting. It’s much easier to transition from chaos to order, from anxiety to peace, when you understand your environment and your role within it.
