The BRICS group of nations has expanded from 5 to 11 member states. This was announced by BRICS Chairperson Cyril Ramaphosa at the adoption of the Johannesburg Declaration 2 by BRICS leaders in Sandton. The BRICS alliance, which is composed of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, is set to invite Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates to join, as they will become full members on January 1, 2024.
