The EFF in Ekurhuleni has withdrawn their Mayoral candidate, leaving the ousted DA councillor Thania Campbell facing the ANC's Jongizizwe Dlabathi. Campbell was ousted as Ekurhuleni Mayor following a motion of no confidence over a week ago. A special council sitting is underway in Germiston to elect the new Ekurhuleni mayor. Following the EFF's withdrawal, the ANC has called for an emergency caucus. Action SA Chairperson Bongani Baloyi says they are for Tanbia Campbell returning back as Mayor.
