🌍 Cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains the leading global killer.
📊 In 2023, CVD caused 19.2M deaths and 437M DALYs (JACC).
🔮 By 2050, projections show 35.6M deaths and 1.14B cases (EJPC) — driven by ageing, hypertension, obesity, and dysglycemia.
⚠️ While age-standardized mortality is projected to fall 30%, the absolute burden will nearly double, with the steepest rise in South & East Asia.
✅ Urgent need for region-specific prevention, hypertension control, and equitable health systems to meet this challenge.
💡 The message is clear: we must act today to bend the curve for 2050. ❤️
