North Atlantic right whales, critically endangered with only 350 left, have been spotted east of Ocean City. NOAA Fisheries have implemented a Slow Zone from March 28th to April 12th to prevent boat collisions. Mariners must avoid the zone or reduce speed to 10 knots. The restricted area spans from 38°34N to 38°3N and 74°19W to 74°58W. Boaters are urged to stay vigilant, as slowing down could save these majestic whales.
