The iconic Jackson Inn sign, a Wilmington landmark for over six decades, may be lost forever as developers plan to build a Dash In convenience store. The site, with roots dating back to a public house in the late 1700s, has been home to the Bourdon familys inn since 1929. Despite efforts to preserve the sign, it was discarded in poor condition. Neighbors and family members, including Mary Bourdon Hannagan, oppose the demolition, suggesting a historical marker instead. The Historic Review Board will decide the sites fate on April 7th.
