Dogs, to most of us, are heroes without capes. They are there for us in our times of need. They provide a shoulder to cry on when we have a bad day. They help the disabled with all sorts of tasks. They provide therapy in times of crisis. They are there at the door wagging their tails when we come home from work. They protect us from bad guys. They sit at our feet when we watch the game. They share our ice cream, slobber, and all.
In my mind they indeed are heroes. And they are not disposable.
