Show Notes

Lynne Cox is an open-water swimmer who has broken many records and been inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame. In her new book, Tales of Al, Lynne looks at the incredible role of water rescue dogs – particularly in Europe, where she studied their training in Italy – and a Newfoundland named Al specifically. These water rescue dogs are trained to swim and act as lifeguards along with their human guardians. Larger water rescue dogs may carry up to 6 people back to shore at once, saving countless lives.
