Senator Joseph McCarthy became synonymous with anti-communist persecution and paranoia in the United States in the 1950’s.This first of two documentaries explains the rise in power of the senator from Wisconsin. McCarthyism has since been defined as “the practice of making accusations of subversion or treason without proper regard for evidence”
